Enve520: well compared cost about the same W/housing whereas nyu is more expensive if you wanted housing! But I know, NYU wasn’t a dream necessarily so I hope someone who would die without gets accepted over me. I’m happy, really happy :D

Bellatheball: I wasn’t offered housing :(

Slickguy: I agree with you but from what I can observe and the universities websites, NYU ranks high in tuition. But of course we have different perspectives and we view things differently. Thanks for your input on that.

My tuition at NYU is actually going to be cheaper for the first semester since 12 credits is about $11,500. I’m going to be working full time 5-6 days a week so I need to make sure that I am comfortable with taking 12 credits before I go up to 16. Then it’ll be more expensive than my OOS tuition at IU.

LondonKim- Yeah, I’ve heard. I know my family can afford it, it’s just that my dad doesn’t want to pay for it… oh well. I still haven’t gotten a decision yet, so I have plenty of time to think about it!

just called and spoke to a really nice admissions counselor! she said my app was in final stages of review and i should hear very shortly, most likely next week.
transfer credits are still not up

@benellis They’re still blocking me from finding much more about my application than is available & that I’ll find out by the end of May. Though, if we have any issues, I’ve been given the email address of someone at Steinhardt Undergrad admissions.

@Benellis - I would if I were you, if only to make sure everything’s actually there. My application was marked off as “complete” last week, but I called to double-check anyway and found out that even though it was listed as complete on my end, it was actually listed incomplete on theirs because of some difficulty with my high school transcript. I wouldn’t take any chances with them, seriously, and it’d be a shame if they rejected your application because it was incomplete and you had no idea.

It does appear as though MCC is not really releasing decisions yet. This is somewhat of a concern, because as i learned when speaking to one of their transfer specialists, MCC is amongst the most competitive programs at Steinhardt. I expect once they do release the decisions it will be quick and painless/ful depending on the outcome. What do you other MCC transfers look like, profile wise??

@reneyney14: I know. I hear housing is limited at Fordham for transfers as well. I wanted to know if anyone want to room with me at the CCNY Towers. They accept applications for non-CUNY students.

bella, I could use some help with housing too as I know pretty much nothing about housing or apartments in the city. I actually think my brother who goes to CUNY Baruch lived in the towers, but I think he didn’t like it for some reason…

Congratulations to all the future NYU students!

Accepted into Tisch Drama, rejected by BU.

NYU was my first choice and I went through the process last year but was denied admission. I took a year off and worked on my craft and expanded my knowledge of plays/playwrights and technique styles.

I haven’t got my transfer credits yet to those of you who got in…where do I find them? They aren’t appearing in Albert.

Stats

GPA Cum 3.5 (on the lower side)
SAT: 1790 (On the lowerside as well)
Extra-curriculars: HS: Football, Wrestling, Business Club, Drama (of course), Drama camps College: Plays, Choir, Ballet.
Essays- IMO Strong, a lot stronger than the ones I wrote last year. I think the audition and the essays count a lot. At least for me, academically, the essays probably gave me the pull with my weak numbers. Focus on the essays and put your soul into that *****.

You guys should be hearing back soon. If not today, some time next week. Good luck everyone. I wish all of you the best. If there are any other tisch transfers, feel free to PM me!

Any tisch students feel like we’ve rejected already? I have no hope anymore. If we were accepted, we would have heard so by now. No credits, no status, no nothing.
Good luck to all, but I think the dream is over for most of us who applied to Tisch.

Signed into Albert and all the links- application status page, transfer credit page etc. are now all of a sudden completely blank. YIKES! :-/ anyone else?
