does anyone know when we hear about housing/register for it? have you gotten that information through email?

oh and also…are transfers guaranteed housing??? nervous about that…

For those that asked, I was accepted into Tisch for Film and TV and I applied by April 1st. I’m so happy! Congrats to all the other applicants who were accepted too!
Good luck to all those who are waiting!

@mspivey

me too! are you going to go for sure? are you doing a summer course?

I was rejected by Stern.

I am in the Baruch Honors Program with a 3.5. I also had two internships on wall street(including a boutique investment bank and a investment bank). I think I had good recs, one written by my honors advisors for the official’s report. I also have a great interest in finance and conveyed that. I feel I had great essays that were about how I wanted to be the best finance student and professional and that Stern would give my the resources to meet my potential in finance and that it was the best finance program for me in terms of environment, finance education and career opportunities, etc. I mentioned how I was interested in the dual nature of education of career and how I wanted to be the best finance student/professional for the duration of my life. I felt that essay was very good and the reasons were as well. I also had a few finance clubs, was on newspaper, had officer position in high school, followed financial markets, studied finance on own, showed that I was very career oriented. I conveyed my interest in finance in my personal statement. I also feel I did well on the personal statements part of the supplement-nailing the questions for each one.

I am starting to think GPA is king. They rather take someone from a worse program/college with a high gpa than someone in a pretty good program with a good GPA. Still I also had rigor as I took like 7 honors classes too. I had all the classes they required I believe. I didn’t send in my SATS they are in 1300s but I felt it was going to hurt me.

Im not sure how much better my app would be even if I had a 3.7 gpa and a club officer position in a club(s). Its kind of nuts because the honors program isn’t that much worse than stern.

I guess I will have to do my best to be successful in finance from my program and apply for top MBAs in a few years.

I applied to cornell aem and was rejected as well. I felt I made a few minor mistakes in my application to Cornell that I corrected for stern. I also cleaned up my essay and made it clearer and to the point for stern.

I feel it would make sense if i got in, but then again when you think about how good stern is and the level of competition, basically you need to a top student to get into a top college.

I feel I definitely wasted my time applying of transfer. Even if I got in I couldn’t go, right now i have a full scholarship. I should i have used the time to improve my ec’s such as getting officer roles in clubs or something. It would help me get summer internships for finance as a sophomore. Now I know what I need to do.

Has anyone from pre-law or pre-medicine heard back yet?

I called housing today to make sure transfers were guaranteed housing. They said that they had spots left and that after I sent in my deposit (did that this morning) I will receive an email shortly giving me further instructions.

I think since we found out fairly early into the acceptance period we should be fine…there is no way they would accept this many transfers if they were already out of rooms (I hope)

Admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! <3

They’re taking all of my credits but my financial aid summary is still blank on Albert.

Credits showed up today. They are all transferring.

I called, got transferred to an officer, she looked me up. She said “You jumped the gun, but you are accepted. You’ll receive an official email soon.”

OMG

So, I called admissions and asked if they could expedite my application because I have a deposit due at another school and I should have sent that in a week ago. The counselor I spoke to said she would inform the admissions committee that I would like my application reviewed as soon as possible (I applied to CAS).

I’m just hoping this doesn’t hurt me :/. That would be my luck, haha.

But for those who want the same thing, all you have to do is ask at this point.

@Lauren229- I wish I had done that. I finished housing for another school two days ago thinking NYU was a lost cause. Now I’m hoping to somehow get a $200 application fee back. :

rejected Steinhardt Studio Art program

absolutely terrible college GPA so i expected it. The admissions director of studio art told me i was into the art school but i had to wait on the academic acceptance - I knew when he told me that my chances were slim. Congrats to everyone else!!

PS. I applied as a rising sophomore from The George Washington University with a 2.7 college GPA 3.5 high school GPA 1900 SATs and a lot of ECs

@oldwumpusale

I don’t think any premed or prelaw applicants have been accepted. Or they just haven’t been posting.

(I applied as a premed/neuro major)

Do you think the science applicants are the last ones to be reviewed? D:<

@mspivey

Has your application status changed on Albert?

I believe someone was accepted to CAS for physics, but that’s all I’ve heard of in terms of science major acceptances. Maybe when my final grades are posted I can fax them in to increase my chances.

I applied for nursing too and haven’t heard anything, probably because my h.s. took forever to send my transcript, this is so maddening! :(

Lol same situation brickbybrick.

@funky yup I’m going for sure, Tisch was the only one I wanted to go to so it’s a relief to be accepted! I’m not doing any summer classes because I did an NYU summer class last year and I’m hoping to vacation this year! :D

@Danny Yes my application status changed to say accepted and link me to the place where you accept the admission.

@mspivey

i’m not doing the summer class either–i’m short on $$. i asked and they said i could do it next summer so i can use this summer to earn money. omg let’s be friends! hehe

@funkyfressh and mspivey2

Hey, what is the summer class that they want us to take? I can’t really find out any details on that. Is it Sight and sound: film ?
