Official NYU 2011 Transfer Thread

Guys, I have one stupid question.
On my page for application status on Albert, it only showed the term, program, academic plan, admit type, notification plan, application date and application requirements. Where can you see if you were accepted or rejected?

I was rejected this morning and I’ve honestly been too upset to even function. I applied to CAS for international relations. I had a 3.4 hs gpa and 3.8 college gpa (just one semester, I’m currently a second semester freshman). 2350 SATs. Lots of ECs, but I’m on my phone so I won’t list them all. I was a national achievement finalist (national merit specifically for African American students). I also took a gap year and volunteered and worked in several countries. I thought I was the perfect candidate for them. Apparently not.

does anyone no if we have to commit before we get our packages?? i was accepted today but it still doesn’t have my transfer credits up
for those who were accepted did you guys receive your package after the emails??
thanksss
and congrats to everyone who was accepted! its a great day!

@moxiemaya
I’m sorry! :frowning:
I hope something works out for you!

To those who were accepted and accepted the offer of admission: how soon did you hear back from NYU regarding signing up for housing? Or did you at all?

@morgv1234

I accepted it this morning and I still have not heard back.

@moxiemaya
aww wow, i am incredibly sorry. your stats seem wonderful and i have yet heard form nyu so this makes me even more nervous :(

@moxiemaya

My heart goes out to you. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

@spiffyspaceman okay thanks!

Thanks guys! I applied to two other schools, but I’m thinking I won’t get into them if I didn’t get into NYU… I guess I’ll be going to CC for a year. I hate my current school too much to stay.

@moxiemaya
I wish you the best of luck, and hopefully you’ll be much happier at a CC than your current school! :)

Shall we continue to post on http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1036986-nyu-2011-transfer-decisions-3.html</a> ?

Please do~
It gives me semi-hope with the waiting process, and it’ll be good for the people who want to apply next year too.

@Monoclide Just added mine, hopefully it will give some Tisch people hope!

@moxie, I’m sorry, I wish you luck.

And yea, I was accepted into CAS for physics for the person who asked before.

@marbas

you can either do fundamentals of sight & sound for film or documentary, or you can do intro to dramatic writing (something like that) along with an intro to the screenplay class. fundamentals is 6 credits on its own, whereas the two writing courses are each 3 credits.

I cant wait to go to nyu!!!

@moxiemaya - Oh, that sucks… you seem really qualified, too. Maybe NYU thought you were -too- qualified and would probably reject their offer? I mean, your stats are really impressive, and I can’t think of any other reason why you would get rejected :frowning: Best of luck at your other schools!

You were accepted srivera?

um moxiemaya’s stats freak me out. although i do think international relations is supposed to be a really hard major? i thought i once heard you couldn’t even apply to it or something? idk im tired i might be making things up, but anyway, i think you’d do great wherever you go!

edit:
TRANSFER STUDENTS

We cannot consider applications to the IR honors major for students outside of NYU until the student is formally enrolled at NYU. Students transferring from another college within NYU may apply up until the fall of their junior year in certain cases. Permission to apply in the fall semester of their junior year is approved on a case-by-case basis by the program director. Students must have taken and received grades in at least two of the required core courses at NYU before applying in the fall of junior year. Once at NYU, students interested in IR should meet with the IR undergraduate student adviser (in the Department of Politics) to get their records reviewed and to receive a preliminary assessment of their prospects of being admitted to this major.

is there anyone who has been accepted to CAS and has not had their credits showing?
today seemed to be somewhat productive with responses, and im still hanging by every moment…
gosh im so nervous
