I totally know how you feel. I’ve actually been emailing my admission’s counselor back and fourth with some questions I had, and the last time I emailed her, just to make sure everything was in once more, she was really rude. She said everything is in, and she’ll contact me if anything is missing. -_-;;

@aszcek Seriously. Normally, I don’t mind waiting, but they did say beginning of May - Mid May. And now, it’s basically almost June now. ><

Gosh I know! And it’s super frustrating since I already put in a deposit for my backup school, which set me back a couple hundred bucks! I even signed up for orientations at that school so I would not get stuck with ****ty classes if I ended up going there but I stilllll don’t know form NYU. No letter, no transfer credits.
NYU should really consider how this time frame is not great for students transferring since most deposit dates are May 1st.

Has any Tisch students had transfer credits show up yet? I’m still waiting for mine and am starting to worry that I may be transferring as a freshman! LOL! (I am supposed to be a Junior in the Fall).

I’m kinda in the same situation, but I asked my backup school to give me some more time. They were fine with extending the deposit fee. I gave them the excuse of me having to pay for all my funds, which I am, so I would work as soon as I’m done with finals to pay for the deposit. While for the tuition, I would just take out a loan.

I feel like I’m going to get bad classes, if I don’t sign up soon… ;A;

I heard from one of my friends, who currently attends NYU, and his friend works as a work study student in the admissions office, and they are just horrible with paperwork. Like, any form of paperwork. They lag, when they say they don’t, and alskdjflasjdfljasldfjlasjdflkaslkdfj -_-;;

I seriously don’t care if I have to take out a full loan. NYU freakin’ accept me.

And it seems like everyone from Tish has been getting letters. Or not that many people , or at least from what I’ve been seeing on this forum, have been getting stuff from CAS…

@mspivey2: CCNY has me worried. How difficult is it to get into CCNY? They have my admissions decision, but tell me I have to wait up to two weeks for it to be sent via email or snail mail. I’m done waiting on NYU.

@mspivery2 Oh, no, I just meant in general. Everyone so far from this forum, who has applied to Tisch, seems to have gotten a reply back. And if you go back a couple of pages, some people who have been accepted to Tisch have their credits up. While I think there are some that don’t have anything up at all…

I think only a handful of Tisch applicants have heard back, maybe half of us at most? There are still many (myself included) that have heard nothing at all. It’s incredibly nerve wracking though.

I’m sure I could have called my backup and extended the deposit dates, but it would have set me back for orientation dates and registration :l
And that really does suck about NYU being slow with paperwork :l
And I’m worried about even if i do get accepted, I’ll have to consider my FinAid package. And by the sounds of previous posts, the FinAid at NYU sucks. I got 90% of my costs paid for under FinAid for my backup so it’ll make my decision even harder if I get into NYU knowing that I can go somewhere else a lot cheaper.

Ahhh, I see…well, I’m in that situation. alkjsdflkajsdlfjlasdjfadf I’m trying not to think about it, but it’s been such a long of anxious wait. >:|

Ek, money does make a big difference. NYU is expensive. My friend that goes there, his parents don’t make much, or anything at all really, and his financial aid is like ?!! Its mainly due to their endowment, though. Yes, their endowment is pretty high, but they don’t have that much of an endowment as other top schools do, along with being located in New York City…it doesn’t leave their students with much aid. Overall, I think it’s where you want to be at. Would you be happier at NYU compared to your backup school? I’m transferring out of my current school regardless, since I am so unhappy there.

Ahhh, I see. I applied as for neuro. Yay, science and math ! :DD

i’m still waiting to hear (applied to steinhardt) but i’ve basically given up on nyu. i don’t have a great chance of getting in in the first place and after seeing the few financial aid packages posted here, there is no way i could afford it!

to whoever was asking about CCNY, i’ve had even more issues with my CUNY application than NYU. if they’re still taking applications, it’s worth a shot, but the entire process is even worse for them because you basically apply through the CUNY system and things are processed through one place rather than directly at the school you chose to apply to. i applied to CUNY with hunter as my first choice in january before their february first deadline and found out that i was accepted two days ago, but only by actually going to their admissions office and asking what was wrong with my application. i still haven’t gotten an official letter or email.

@car247: I applied at the end of January. Then, I called today, and the woman I spoke to told she didn’t have my admission decision. But, she said I would receive word in early June. I can’t wait that long, because I have to give other schools a decision. Plus, I’m not going all the way into NYC just to find out about a decision.

@bellatheball With CCNY it totally depends on your major. When I applied I was undecided, but majors like engineering and any of the sciences are very competitive because CCNY is one of the best and most inexpensive colleges in both of those fields. But seriously, don’t stress too much City College isn’t too difficult to get into! Good luck!

i was told the same thing about having to wait until june! first i was told the end of april, then told to ask again two weeks later, then told i would hear by june. i was really worried for the same reason because i need to accept at another school in a few days. it is totally ridiculous that i had to actually go to their office to find out what was going on but at least i know now. maybe you should try telling someone at admissions that you need to let another school know before june? (although when i did that i received a rude email repeating that i would hear in june…)

@bellatheball and @car247 like I said a while ago, the only thing I really don’t like about CCNY is their office bureaucracy! It can take forever to get stuff done! I just keep calling, emailing and actually going in until someone finally gives me what I need! LOL! It’s very annoying but it seems to be the only way to get stuff done around here!

@xpandachuy
It will definitely be a hard decision. But since I already finished my semester (I went to a CC so I will be graduating and transferring as a junior) so all I can think about is where I will be attending next year and I’m still all over the place with my decision since I’m still waiting on NYU
NYU has always been my dream school but I plan to go on to graduate school to get a PhD so I’m not sure if it’s smart to take out that so many loans at a undergraduate level since I will still have a million years of schooling left :p

Either way, I hope you get in! I keep seeing acceptances and rejections for other schools and barely any for CAS so I’m hoping they hurry up!

Good luck to you and everyone else still waiting :D

I sent an email to NYU last Friday. They didn’t respond until Tuesday, and the rep said “Thank you for writing, and I can assure you that you will be hearing from us within the week.” I checked my credits, they were up. I called, they told me I was accepted.

It is Thursday, mid day, and still no email!

Ughh, I got a rude email too. I was like semi-speechless when I finished reading it

@aszcek I’m not sure about my chances for NYU anymore though… like, prior I thought I was a potential candidate, but as of right now I’m losing hope. I’m transferring as a sophomore. This semester has probably been one of the worse semesters of my academic career, I just got diagnosis to be clinically depressed a weekish two ago, which kind of explains why I’ve been doing so horribly in my two of my classes… I still passed those two courses, but it makes me just go alskdjflaskjdflkajsldfkjalskjfd

I don’t think those grades will affect me too much(and I’m just probably just being too hopeful saying that). I mean as a sophomore applicant a lot of the decision is semi-heavy on your high school profile and your current extra curricular.

Thank you for the good luck. ;U; I really need it. ;A;
