Official NYU 2011 Transfer Thread

So many MCC people were accepted. I’m anticipating rejection.

@benellis

Don’t anticipate anything. They honestly still haven’t finalized all decisions. They’re in the middle of finalizing. Decisions will be out by Thursday though. (I think I wouldn’t have known until then had I not played phone tag all day).

Wherever you end up, it’s you that’ll make your future not the school. :)

I found Erin Whipple’s email address and I’m wondering if I should email or wait until I can call tomorrow.

I have always wanted a job in finance and i heard that i-banks and hedge funds recruit at NYU. I am still in h.s. and i probably wont get in but i might end up at UCSD. Will it be a long-shot to transfer to NYU?

It’s harder than getting in as a freshman, but it’s not a long shot as long as you get decent grades.

still haven’t heard from MCC but congrats to all of you who have!!

Hey guys, when is the university day gonna be held. The emails were in my junk folder and hotmail deletes them after 10 days. I thought I’d already moved them to my inbox -.-

Some help here guys : )

I really hope I find out about MCC today or tomorrow :frowning:
I have tried so hard these past couple of years to get into NYU, this is my 3rd time applying! Out of high school it was a long shot because of my horrible SAT scores, but last year I thought I really stood a chance.
I have worked my butt off the past year and a half!
I have a 3.8 GPA, Deans List (for the past 2 semesters, not at my old college but I still maintained a 3.3 GPA), tons of extra curricular activities (including a week long community service trip to help Katrina victims), an internship, and I have completed 78 credits thus far and I am ahead of my peers by a full semester (I am actually considered a 2nd semester junior)- why don’t they want me???

Is it because maybe this would be my third time transferring? I had to transfer the first time because my first school didn’t offer Communications.
Is it maybe because I got a C- my first semester freshman year? Ugh this is frustrating. I want to call but I have waited so long I guess another day won’t kill me.

Accepted to cas yesterday!!

I received an email saying they were not able to give me a financial aid report because they’re missing my social security number. The asked me to log in to Albert and add it. Where exactly do I do that?

Has anyone else had the same problem?

Wow, so I called NYU again today and I was told that the reason it was taking so long is because Steinhardt only has two people reviewing applications, They’re reviewing communications last, so they just started looking at them this week and my application hasn’t been reviewed yet. So, if you haven’t heard, it means absolutely nothing other than that they haven’t read your app yet.

Yea i called to for MCC my app hasnt been reviewed. Agin we should know by early “next week”

Got in Stern but I already accepted Wharton’s offer. My credits just showed up

I too was a CCTOP applicant, and if I hadn’t gotten the spoiler email from the director of that program I would still be waiting for my “official” letter. Ironically, I have gotten an email about orientation already =) …So hang in there MCC and the rest of the Steinhardt people, they are just really really really slow.

Still havent heard! Like what is going on?
its well beyond the very last possible date. I’m
@the point where I cannot wait any longer, i need to know what i am gonna do with my life!!! I may withdraw my app if I dont hear tomorrow…

NYU; I dunno, im just disappointed I guess.

@danny8 why withdraw your app when you will hear any day now…?

All MCC people, I haven’t received my package in the mail yet, how long will that take? And does anyone know when orientation is? As predicted, much of my aid is in loans but I did get a Steinhardt scholarship which I’m grateful for, lol

I have a question about the review process. For those who haven’t heard anything(including me), are our chances going to be less since the space are running out?

I talked to one admission advisor about this, and she told me that is not how they work. She said the admission office tend to look all the applicants as a pool. But what I don’t understand is how can they possibly judge we as a pool when some people already got their decisions and someone’s application hasn’t even been reviewed yet?

@thegreatperhaps orientation is June 23 or July 12. You only have to attend 1 of the 2 sessions. There is a 40 dollar fee for attending LOL

There is a 40 dollar fee to attend yet its mandatory?? lol

@crw379 - Where was orientation mentioned? I didn’t see anything about that…
