Thank you. Appreciate the kind words.

Anyone find out about their financial aid package ?

About the Instructor Evaluation Form and Letter of recommendation… do we have to send both in? I had my professor just send in the Instructor Evaluation form, and now I’m confused.

Also, I’m applying to NYU Study Abroad in the fall. Should I mention that I’ve been accepted to the study abroad program on my application? Would that help my application?

Just one letter of recommendation is required right ??

Yeah, but I’m sending in two. The only problem is that I don’t know if the Instructor Evaluation form is sufficient, or should there be a letter of recommendation as well.

Does anyone know when spring 2011 transfer students are supposed to pay their account balance? I’ve registered for classes, but none of my fafsa loans are accounted for, so it’s more than it should be. If I don’t pay before classes begin tomorrow, will all of my classes be dropped?

How do you send the AP Scores? NYU’s Office told me they require them, but when I call AP Reporting Services they say their database isn’t available…

hey! im currently studying at QCC CUNY and planning to transfer to nyu robert tisch center later on. and i want to take the major sports management but im apparently studying business administration because my advisor told me to get in there because when he ask me i still dont know what major to decide. and now i found out that the requirement degree in robert tisch center is kinda different from what i’m studying here at QCC. how do i suppose to do? and is it true that if we study one year at college the requirement for SAT to enter NYU will be exempt? thanks :)

So I called NYU today and the receptionist was being really unhelpful. All she kept saying was “You should check our website.” Which then basically left all of my questions unanswered :/

So does anyone know what the College Official’s Report is?
And just curious how selective is NYU or Stern as a whole?

And correct me if I am mistaken.
*I am over 30 units, so I don’t have to send in SAT Scores.
*And 1 letter of recommendation is required from my professor.
*And I’m guessing all paperwork should be postmarked by April 1st ?

It doesn’t state how many units. It just states: If you have been enrolled in a college or university for at least one year of full-time study, you are exempt from having to submit the SAT or ACT. Generally, a year is equivalent to 28-32 credits; however, this might be a similar scenario to USC’s sending of standardized scores.

Correct but try to submit paper work several weeks in advance. This allows for clerical errors and sufficient time for you to resend documents without potentially affecting your application. This seemed to be a major problem last year glancing through last year’s thread. Transcripts were lost and misplaced causing applicants much anxiety. If possible try to submit documents at an earlier date.

Correct. Complete your portion of the Instructor’s Evaluation form (available on the Common Application website) and give it to a professor or instructor who has taught you at the college/university level, along with a stamped, addressed envelope for his/her convenience.

Numbers taken from CollegeBoard

Applied: 5,808
Admitted: 1,938
Admit rate: 33%
Enrolled: 1,115

Stern numbers are probably at 10%. You can take a look at this post for information on Stern. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/11721479-post385.html

I didn’t know we don’t have to submit SAT scores if we are over 30 units (Also, I didn’t know we could even apply if we have under 30 units…). Should I still sent my SAT scores even if I don’t have to?

@MitchAPalooza:

Thanks for all of the info, it really helped.
I’ll definitely try to submit paperwork in advanced, and yeah the 30 credit thing was supposed to be interchangeable for the whole one year in college. Thanks again!

Oh and the lady I talked to, did mention to tell me that the cut off limit for units accepted was 64 units. She said they won’t accept you with more than 64. But then again, she didn’t seem like she knew what she was talking about.

I couldn’t find any information on the unit limit. She probably meant:
Or she could also be referring to that a maximum of 64 units of credit will be awarded toward the bachelors degree. Last year numerous applicants had more than 64 units. She probably meant to say that only 64 will be awarded.

Okay, yeah I’m not sure what she meant. Like I said, the receptionist didn’t seem to know much.
