Call your old high school counselor, beg her to send it out tomorrow and make sure it’s postmarked. Better safe than sorry right?

Hey, does anyone know when decisions are being sent out??
I sent in my app back in mid-February, and the wait is seriously getting to me! Especially because I have friends who are transferring (not to NYU) and they already found out. UGH.

Also, decisions are sent by email, right?

And if anyone’s still wondering about the Net ID thing, I got mine by email like a week or two after I sent in my app.

Hey, I have a dumb question.

Are we required to submit “School Forms”. Like College Official’s Report and Instructor Evaluation. It’s also been a few years since I graduate High School so do I have to submit a "Secondary School Report " as well? Any help would be great!

@corvin

Secondary school report is not necessary, but the rest of them are.

@CityfilmTran

I too got the e-mail. Submitted my app around 10 minutes ago. Just hope they set up the netid soon so that I can see if all my documents are there safely.

I submitted mine on Monday and still haven’t received a netid. I’ve heard it can take two weeks! Congrats on submitting – Now the real waiting begins.

LOL 500 characters for the personal statements, I thought it was 500 words. This could mess me up, as I wrote out each of the three supps 500 words about.

Batman - I did the same thing at first and became increasingly frustrated that I couldn’t copy/paste from my office program! I finally typed it out and that made me realize it was capped… Not easy to cut down 500 words to 500 characters let me tell you! I can’t believe you wrote that all out! Kudos to you and don’t worry, I think it will be a common problem. I mean, characters instead of words???

CC addiction, too many nerves and too much work to do. Must sleep!

that almost happened to me, I was stressing over it and then one day i just re-read and it said CHARACTERS as in twitter characters lol then it was easy i sent mine last week

Your personal statements are only 500 characters? What the hell? lol For the school that I’m trying to get into (SCPS), all they say is minimum of 350 words. My personal statement right now (3rd draft) is 780 words. I can’t imagine cutting it down that much.

Twitter characters lol. Back when I was young they were just characters
Anyone else applying to gallatin?

Just completed my app to NYU CAS as a Fall 2011 sophomore transfer…chance me please?

COLLEGE
- Current student at Penn State University
- Current student at the Schreyer Honors College at PSU
- College GPA: 3.38 (Got all A’s first semester, except one C in JAPANESE that brought down my entire GPA -_-)

HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended prestigious NYC high school (Hunter College High School)
- Honors classes all throughout HS
- HS GPA: 88

SATS
- Composite score: 2140
- Took 3 SAT IIs, scored in the 600-700 range on all of them

EXTRA CURRICULARS
- Music since age 4 (continued in high school/college)
- Chess since elementary school (continued in high school/college)
- Spent 1 year as a research intern at Columbia University Medical center
- Spent 1 year on the Literary Council at the honors college I currently attend

Which school at NYU are you applying to? Stern would be very hard, and CAS a bit of a reach, but you should be in with a chance at the others. At least, according to me. I’m no expert. :)

@Vihzel

Personal statements are not 500 characters. Supplement answers are a MAXIMUM of 500 characters.

The personal essay (reasons for transferring) is minimum 250 words.

@giantmidget, I applied to CAS. Also, as comes along with the honors college at PSU, I’ve taken 9/31 credits (or 3/10 classes) at college as honors, so that’ll hopefully help too

and supp answers were 500 chars MAX…slightly ridiculous, but hey…

@thf5017 - Well, that certainly makes up for your slightly low GPA, and if you have good extra-curriculars and a good essay, it’ll help you a lot.

Just checked on CommonApp, and my application has been downloaded by NYU. The wait begins.

does anyone know NYU transfer acceptance rate?

I’m finally going to submit mine soon too, after one, final check. Fingers crossed. Oh, worries, worries, that my essays aren’t as good as I think. >.<

Good luck to you all, I’m sure you’re all qualified and deserving of it if you’re here : ]

I know NYU is 60% female, but does anyone know if that still applies to their film program?
