Official NYU 2011 Transfer Thread

albert system is down!! according to my computer!!! no!!! I just want nyu to accept me blahh

Maintenance no fun :(

I called and the student counselor said that the decisions are emailing out by the rolling base… RAWRRR… I completed my application around Mar. 20th+ something… does that mean I need to wait longer…>.<… rawrrrr… i dont wanna wait ANYMORE!!!

I don’t think the time you submitted your application matters that much, really, but rather when they managed to get to it and if anything was missing. I think rolling admissions in this case may refer more to the fact that they send out a decision on applications as they review them (as compared to sending the decisions all at once like they do for freshmen, regardless of when the decisions were made).

I could be wrong, of course, though.

that makes sense! thanks caligulashorse!! i just really wanna know the decision… ahhhh… it’s so annoying waiting…

anyone form CAS able to see their transfer credits on albert? Besides philgirl, I think she already got in to CAS.

@conncoll20 I can’t, can you?

i cantt… and i bet you they will let those no who got accepted first and those who didnt will be told later in may… so i bet people will hear if they got in according to how early they applied… and those who were rejected i think r just going to be told at the end.

ALBERT is not working, can you guys check the application status?

@tofumaster, the same thing happened to me but I haven’t heard anything back yet have you

@srivera617 I dont think it has anything to do with what time they sent in the material because I sent my things in on the deadline day, and I know all my stuff has been processed because it shows me my transfer courses

u see ur transfer courses? then u prob got in.

Nope, I cannot see any courses on the transfer credit page…out of the two who could see their courses, one applied to a different school within NYU. So I think it really depends on the school you are applying to and how fast those people accept and then process the information. Then again, didnt people say we should disregard the information on albert?

@likewow: I haven’t heard anything back yet either, though im hoping they give us some news by the end of this week!! best of luck :]

tofumaster, do your transfer courses show up? Which school are you applying to?

@conncoll20: yea, my transfer courses show up, they were up since last week but still nothing! I applied to CAS politics

@tofumaster Good Luck To You Too… I found this on the Tisch Site, I think it applies to every school though

How do my transfer credits get applied to my transcript?

Non-NYU transfers receive a tentative statement of transfer credits from the Admissions office with your acceptance letter. Use this statement to help make decisions about the courses for which you will register this fall. Once you have received final grades for the spring semester, you must have an official transcript sent to the Undergraduate Admissions office at 665 Broadway, 11th floor, New York, NY 10012-2339. The Admissions Office will then evaluate your credits and mail you a final statement of transfer credit. These credits will be applied to your record (usually in August/ September).

I have no trouble logging into Albert, but I didn’t see my credit transfer page showing anything Also, my application status disappeared.
I sent my application around Feb. 20ish,and sent my mid-term late March.

tofu, when’d you apply?

tofu, can you post your stats please?

I applied around March 10th or so.

My stats are:

Sophomore at Carnegie Mellon University
-gpa. 3.66 - high honors Deans list for 2 semesters (dropped from a 3.92 from freshman year to a 3.08 last term because of a sophomore slump, but hopefully i’ll be back up again this term)

  • Sat: 2170
  • High School GPA: 94.3 (it was based out of 100)
  • MY EC’s Are
  • Work on campus for the biology department as an office administrative assistant, part of culture clubs, there are probably other things i cant really think of haha
  • Applied to CAS politics.
  • I thought my essay was good, targeted it towards NYU
-THe only thing i would say was not so favorable was the recommendation from professor. I got my Chinese teacher to write it (at the time i was scrambling to find someone and other professors told me there wasnt enough time to write anything for me) and she has pretty bad english ahahaha so it was really grammatically wrong and made no sense. im sure it wasnt a big deal anyways though!
