Haha Cloudy, I almost applied to Rutgers and Columbia as well but didn’t because I changed Rutgers to USC just 'cause and didn’t bother with Columbia because it would’ve been a waste of money (and I don’t have much to toss around). Though I did apply to Fordham as well, but I’m pretty angry that I haven’t heard from them yet.

For those people (like me) who are feeling a bit anxious about other people getting accepted, just to quote:

“Summer and Fall transfer—Beginning early to mid-May”

Good luck guys though. We’re about to fall of the cliff and into the valley. It’s a long walk out.

@coolio2244242 I know, right?? I mean, what’s Fordham DOING with my application that it’s taking this long? They didn’t even let me know if my app was complete or not…weird. But yeah, I know Columbia is totally a waste of time. I just can’t seem to squash out that small glimmer of hope that they might accept me, lol.

@football462 My SATs were awful: 2040 (650 CR, 640 M, 750 W), but my HS average was 102 weighted, and I was in the top 1% of the class (I will never stop being proud of that, lol).

@Giantmidget
My stats are:
Apply for Junior, Actuarial Science major
GPA: 3.9/4.00
I am actually a math/statistics major in CC. Since NYU has the program which not many universities offer, I just want to give it a shot though I think my chances are not really high. Btw, do you get all the documents processed in the Albert account? I just have my transcript there.

I have a Blackberry, and every time I get an email and the red notification light blinks, my heart skips a beat.

This wait is killing me.

@EchelonSapphire

Your GPA is really good, especially for a junior. Good luck!

Albert says they have my standardized test scores and college transcript, but not my high school transcript. I called and they said that they have everything.

@giantmidget:
lol! It actually just 3 weeks. And my friend who got in Stern last year got notified in early May. So, don’t worry and good luck to you!

Haha Cloudy, don’t worry, it’s not nearly as bad as USC though. I submitted my app in late January and I think I’m closer to hearing from the NY schools that I applied to 2 months after.

And trust me, 2040 is NOT a terrible SAT score. 1880 is =(

I like to blame it on the fact that I had a baseball game right after so my mind was elsewhere =D

Congratulations to those of you who are already receiving your acceptance emails!
I gotta say though, your stats are making me nervous about my chances of being accepted. LOL.

Guys… i think we really need to stop being anxious… lol… although I was just complaining about the looooonnng waiting time with my roommate… but anyways… i’m just gonna stop checking Albert and refreshing my Gmail every second now… rawwrrrr… and GOOD LUCK to all of us… BUT… whoever hears from STERN… PLEASE say something lol…anyways… >.<

KEACHOY I TOTALLY AGREE!! even though i am very proud of my 4.0 my sats (1740) are horrific compared to a 2040. I mean, i feel like i have no chance. I really hope they dont make major use of SAT’s or im screwed i think.

oh and anyone who is talking about fordham on here, they are absolutely ridiculous. i have not heard anything yet either.

oh, great. And I thought financial aid would help me SOMEwhat.

Econ major / psych minor
SAT: 2130/2400 (It’s not really that high)
ACT: 32/36 (pretty much the equivalent of the SAT)

High school GPA: 3.91
Current college GPA: 3.94
10 APs: Macroecon, Physics, psych, calc, english, stats, U.S. & World history, etc.
EC: Piano performance at Carnegie Hall (for winning a gold medal in international competition)
Environmental sustainability research project to reduce carbon footprint
internship for marketing
President of a community service organization
Teaching with Junior Achievements of NY financial literacy in public schools

All in all, I was REALLY surprised and happy to get in. I just hope financial aid helps. But judging from the information @ CollegeBoard, it’s not looking too pretty.

@srivera617. How many credit hours have you completed? I didn’t even send my ACT/SAT scores. An admissions counselor told me that if you’ve completed a certain number of hours, you don’t have to submit those scores. I asked if submitting my scores would increase my chances, but he said in the end the scores would not hold much weight in their decision for my application. If you have over 30 credit hours, I wouldn’t worry about your scores.

@BlueLife. Congratulations!
I think a lot of people have the same problem. Even if I am accepted, there’s a big chance that I will not be able to afford to go.

BlueLife, are you really surprised? Those stats seem pretty damn impressive.

Hi!

I have applied as a soph transfer to stern. I submitted my app 2 days before the deadline. I haven’t heard from nyu at all since then. This really worried me and so I called their admissions office. The lady there said that nyu has my application except for the hs transcript part. I told her that I didn’t even receive any email from nyu confirming the receipt of my app and she didn’t understand at all. I really don’t know what to do. I don’t even have an account on Albert.

@Coolio I was super surprised. I know NYU is really competitive and with all the high-caliber applicants, I didn’t think my chances were great. But now that I hear all the people talking about their stingy FA, I’m really worried. The cost of attendance IS what my family makes lol

@maheen11: Whoa, I’m in the exact same situation. I hadn’t really paid much attention to this NYU thread since I thought decisions wouldn’t be coming in for a month yet, but I just checked in and saw that everyone else has gotten their Albert IDs, etc. and even a handful of decisions already! I haven’t heard a peep from NYU, all I have is the confirmation from Common App that my app/supplement/fee were submitted in late March. I need to call admissions in the AM I guess…

Found out today I got in! CAS- Psychology. I will post my stats. Good luck everyone!

@BlueLife Lol, NYU’s cost of attendance is higher than my family’s annual salary. It’s really sad. But NYU sucks in general with FA. I applied last year, and they wanted me to take out $25k in loans. I didn’t realize that that was a GOOD deal, lol. Apparently they’re updating FA awards in three days. I’m hoping for FA comparable to last year…or better, not that that’s ever going to happen, lol.

@srivera617 Yeah, Fordham’s weird. I thought they’d let us know earlier even though the deadline’s in June. Whatever.

@coolio Aw, don’t say that! My score only seems high cause I did well on the writing section. I suck at math, and I screwed up CR…UGH, standardized testing! I hate it! And having to go through the application process again was extremely depressing since all my friends are all gushing about how they don’t have to worry about that this year. Anyway, good luck with USC!!

@Cloudyafternoons THAT IS NOT AN AWFUL SAT SCORE.
