Official NYU 2011 Transfer Thread

I am sending my transcript soon. I hope I get an email soon.

Keachoy – i completed 22 credits last semester and 16 this semester… but since i didnt complete 30 credits all together to submit i had to send them. do u still think im screwed? hahahah

Aw, thanks benellis. Having smart friends is bad for my ego, lol.

Don’t waste your time! That’s where I am trying to transfer from!

hahahha monoclide why r u transferring?!

I asked NYU and they said that seeing your credits in ALbert doesnt mean anything- they do credit evaluations for all the applicants

Haha Cloudy, it is bad. I mean, the writing and verbal section, I don’t really care about THAT much. But my math was 670. I guess I was having a bad day, because I believe I was the best math student in my graduating class (out of 100 students, I graduated 4th overall). The biggest mistake I made in my life was NOT retaking my SATs. I was content with them and paid the price (was forced to go to my safe, which I’m desperately trying to transfer out of now). I somewhat redeemed myself on the SAT IIs (730 in Math II, 690 in World History [we won’t talk about my 660 in Math I =)]), but still…I disappointed myself greatly.

derp. oh well.

@Cloudyafternoons - Congrats! linguam latinam amas? I’m on here instead of writing a commentary on one of Cicero’s letters for my Roman epistolography class, ahaha (man, I need to stop procrastinating…). I’m technically on track to be a Classics major, but I applied to Hellenic Studies instead. Figured I might as well pick up Modern Greek.

And pssht, 670 is bad on the math section? I think it’s good. The best I ever did for the math was 680, which I was happy with, but then my math score declined… a lot… the next two times I took it. Thankfully, both my reading and writing scores were comfortably in the 700s, but my embarrassing final math score still hurts :frowning: Ach, math was never my strong suit…

Haha for me? Not breaking 700 in math is an absolute travesty. I should be able to get 700 on the SAT I in my sleep. I actually think the math was too easy for me (because I do have that problem. It’s sad how the deeper I get into advanced calculus and number theory, the worse I get at multiplying and adding).

@coolio its the same here, i got a 710M on the SAT I math, but on SAT II I got a 790, and when I think about it, the SAT II was so much easier (from what I remember at least). Weird how that works.

@analuisac12: when did you ask that?
My credit transfer page showed nothing, so does that mean they haven’t review my application yet?

Hi all,

I’ve been catching up with this forum for a while but haven’t posted anything yet, but the anxiety is starting to kill! Is anyone else transferring to Steinhardt? I don’t know how lenient they’ll be with my GPA compared to Stern and CAS; but I hope I’m still in the running. I’m applying for Music Business so I had to submit a whole other application package for the program, but would anyone know if it’s easier to get into? (Obviously it’s relative per year and how many people apply I’m assuming)

Also, I doubt alumni would be the turning factor, but my mother attended NYU. Ah man the wait kills :stuck_out_tongue: Every time my phone rings I always anticipate the decision! Scary.

Good luck to you all and congrats to those who got in!

@cloudy. Congrats! I also got admitted today and checked my financial aid it said it wasnt accessible…I was just wondering who told you the awards would be up in three days? I’m sooo worried about financial aid haha

@analuisac… I’m not sure who you talked to but the person I talked to said that your transfer credits would ONLY show up on Albert upon your admittance, mine did two days ago and I got my letter today!

@likewow: so it sounds like the transfer credit page is an indicator of admissions?
Thanks for this info, really helps!

coolio, hopefully the admissions officers will be able to see past your pretentiousness in the admittance process.

humbly yours,
a prospective state school transfer

@HPTransfer: Hey! I’m also applying for Music Business program!!
I heard that Steinhardt is usually friendly with the transfer students, but the Music Business program is among the best in the country, so I’m not so sure.
I’m surprised people are already getting their results back! I’m so x10000 nervous!

peanutbutterfan, I’m sorry, but I can’t help it if I’m the best at everything. (=^_^=)

I go to NYUHome and type in my net id and password but it doesnt have many options from there. It says you can acces Albert from nyuhome and i know u guys say ur going on albert to check app status n stuff but how did u even get the PIN required to log in

coolio, i’m sure your social skills are just as stellar as your grades. can’t wait for you to be this guy next year:

I applied to Steinhardt as well, but for a different program.
