5PM check in 3 minutes… lame

hey guys i called them today asking if maybe i can get my decision cause i have other deadlines by this monday… the counselor i talked to said that they cant give decisions over the phone and that another round of emails are going out tomorrow and saturday. she said that if i dont hear anything by then… call them again. just givin u guys some information

I applied as a poli sci/german double major…Im glad youre more confident!!! but take my lower gpa with a grain of salt cause my major gpas are significant higher, Im coming from a good school, and maybe other parts of my application were stronger. I wish I could give you more info! Good luck everyone!

@srivera617: you mean another round of admission results? or another round of missing materials? Coz when i called this afternoon, they were saying another found of missing material emails will be out soon.

@mitchapalooza - just a comment regarding your comment that undergraduates receive “a guarantee of full financial aid for 4 years” does not mean it’s all scholarships and grants. Like many other colleges it means a heavy burden of stafford, sallie mae and private loans that have to be paid back.

Screw NYU. I just got my FA package today, and they are giving me 15k and want me to loan out 45k per year. Screw that. Screw THAT.

Maybe it seems feasible for them that if my family income = cost of attendance, OF COURSE I should be able to attend with a 15k scholarship. Right? wrong.

There’s no way I’m gonna be in 135k debt by the time I get my undergraduate degree. Wow. And just a couple of days ago I was so excited about getting in. And they hit you with this crappy news.

Wow. That’s rough. I’ve always heard NYU was horrible with FA but seeing examples is just cementing that notion.

Might have to seriously consider applying next year if I already know the outcome of FA.

My transfer credits just showed up… made me really happy lol. I didn’t fill out FAFSA… I feel like that might have been a really bad thing to forget to do… I need at least a few loans to be able to go :/

I got my acceptance email today but when I try confirm my enrollment on Albert there’s no ADMISSIONS OFFER link described in the letter. I’m worried they made a mistake and I’m really not accepted. Has anybody been able to confirm enrollment?

Sundee and KingSundru - what schools did you apply? and Sundee, call or E-mail admissions and I’m sure they’ll update your Albert. Congratulations!!

@Kingsundre: What college you apply for?
@Sundee: what college did you get the admission from?

@cityfilmtran and Liangg - CAS - American and English Literature :D

Thanks! I was “admitted” (still nervous about this) to CAS. I’ll be calling admissions first thing tomorrow.

I feel like CAS is releasing results early.
I haven’t seen any acceptance from other colleges yet~

Kingsundru :You will soon get the admission email :)

yea it seems like cas is on board with there admissions…
and lianggg i meant admission results
do u think its bad that the counselor said that if i dont hear by this weekend i should call next week? i told her my name and she said all my materials were there

@srivera617: well I think the counselor’s words are just neutral coz he/she doesn’t want you to miss deposit deadline for another school. When I called, they didn’t even ask for my name. They only said they can’t check it now but another round of emails about missing material will be out tmro or next week. She also mentioned notification will be begin in early may. weird we both called but get different answers.

To my fellow Tisch transfers (and this may just apply to the film students),

If accepted I believe we’re meant to start in a summer session. Can anyone confirm?

@cityfilmtran

yep. i applied to the same program as you. nervous!
(though, even if i get in, i probably won’t be able to afford the school. womp womp.)

It will hardly give us time to prepare (applying for classes, ny living sit) I can’t imagine they’d take much longer to tell us. What year are you?

i know, right. i bet they’ll take their time, though. unlike many of the other programs, they have to review our portfolios and such. i’ll be a sophomore fall 2011. you?
