Bella, in March, I recieved notification from SLC that they had my app, and how to check status (I sent you a PM with that info). Then on 4/15 I recieved acceptance and notification of transfer credits.

All you guys looking at SLC and NYU, I assume you are looking at NYU CAS. Have you thought about how you are going to meet Morse Plan (Gen Ed)?

my son never got an email even though I know they don’t have his H.S. transcript. I spoke to Crystal the Tisch Admissions counselor last week who told me they didn’t have it.

I’m starting to think that they don’t bother completing information from the people they aren’t interested in.

I am transferring from a community college. I originally applied during my senior year as a freshman applicant and received acceptance, but who knows what could happen this time around. But, I actually want to minor in econ :)

After reading all of these posts, I feel like I should call the admissions office even though my Albert has said that my college, high school, and sat scores were received and have check marked for a week and a half now…

Do i really have to take english (again) and a foreign language for majoring in neuroscience/econ? That’s complete BS. I did so bad in french all throughout high school, I can’t go back to it.

From the looks of it, I might go to miami over nyu since I can take both neuroscience and econ courses, get a dual major all with a scholarship, and not have to take any “gen ed” courses …

@kevin6192 –> I would take it as a good sign… If they want to see more information on you and your grades, you could stand a better of chance of getting in because you seem qualified.

Football, I think you can get credit for english. The foreign language, either placement test, AP, or transfer credit to cover up through 4 college semesters. Then, two misc courses they say they never waive, (something like cultures and texts). fooball, I dont think you need to worry re the math (waived if SAT over 600) and 2 science. Also I think like a history/sociology type class and a creative (art or music appreciation type class), that they will waive. But I’ve only been looking at stuff I need.

Yeah, i don’t remember any french nor have I taken an AP/SAT II exam. Since I’m doing 2 majors, my classes per semester are already pretty packed. In addition to doing pre-med courses (orgo+physics) which will take the majority of my time, and then econ, I don’t see myself even trying to do a foreign language just as a requirement.

I plan on doing an MD/MBA after I graduate, and yes I know a foreign language could help me in both the medical and business world, but still.

Football, I am kinda where you are. When you add the two courses they say they dont waive to any foreign language, it adds up. I had been hoping i would get accepted soon, and then could go to NYU summer school. Oh well. tick.tock.tick tock.

Hey guys, I am new here, but have been trying to keep up with the thread. I have sent both the common app and supplement to NYU on the 04/01/2011. The common app was downloaded on the 04/02/2011.

However, when I log in Albert and check my application status. It shows the Application Date as 04/08/2011. Anyone has the same issue as me? Do you guys think if I should email/call them about it? Thanks for any input!

I applied to NYU on April 1st and my application was downloaded on the 2nd. Additionally, Albert states that my application date is the 6th. According to this thread and past posts, this is pretty common and nothing to really worry about. But if you are really worried, you could give them a call and ask.

Thanks for the responses. Do you think time is against me?
I’m not sure how long it will take for my midterm report to get to NYU.
I still need to look for my professors.

What intrigues me is the people who received acceptances before May 1st and what process NYU used to determine who those people were. Although my initial assumption was that NYU early admitted only the most qualified applicants or those applicants who submitted their applications first, after reviewing many of the posts on this forum it’s clear that’s simply not the case.

What I think NYU is doing is either admitting students based on if they indicated they also were applying to other, comparably similar, schools and/or based on when they applied in reference not to the actual application date but to the date the office downloaded their application.
