Official NYU 2011 Transfer Thread

Ohhh… MY GOD I HAVE A NEW E-MAIL!!

Oh… nope - It’s not NYU…

no admission mail today?!

i got into nyu last night

in my dream

@londonKim

lol!

i just checked my nyu email and saw i got the email about missing items. it said my transcripts were missing, even though i sent them all in one envelope and 3/4 are checked off… this was just a fluke right?

also, the email said decisions are made on a rolling basis?

“Finally, please be aware that we will notify candidates of their admissions decision on a rolling basis but we cannot expedite providing you with a decision upon request.”

now im scared, i applied march 29th!

I really hope we find out by the end of this week, if I have to wait another week I’m going to pull my hair out!

Applied to NYU CAS!

Somebody here said they would be replying by the end of this week / beginning of next week. I really hope this is true.

The first thing I’m going to do if I get accepted is go up to NYU and buy a NYU hoodie, and then I will wear it every day and never wash it.

@enve520, welcome to the house of missing transcripts. A lot of us are having that issue, although it doesn’t make any ****** sense if everything was sent all in 1 envelope. And as for the rolling admissions, I applied 2/16/11 and it said the same thing on the incomplete app email!!

@spiffyspaceman, with you on the hoodie part. I’ll make an effort to fly from la to NYC to buy that sweater myself!

NYU I’m getting frustrated of checking my email every minute and refreshing when nothing pops up! Pronto!!

Reneyney14: agree!!! i sent everything in ONE envelope but i still have missing transcript issue!!!

I have a question regardless how competitive it is to get into NYU CAS as an economics transfer. Currently, I am a student in a Californian Community College, and have completed most of the prerequisite courses for most of the UCs. However, I have not done any intermediate economics courses, since my school just doesn’t offer them. I have an overall GPA 3.65, but the problem is that I have a C for one of the calculus courses last quarter. Furthermore, I probably will not be able to finish the statistic course before the Fall 2011. Other than that, I have done everything for my major. Is there anyone who might spend sometime to give me some advices and chance me for the admission?

@oldwumpusale

idk, people already got into the major i applied to a little bit ago and i haven’t received a decision yet. could be bad news for me…or could be that it’s just a coincidence that a lot of the people who already got in applied to the same/similar majors…

Wait how are you guys checking your nyu email? If i click “preferences” in NYUHome, it says that my NYU email is unavailable.

@football462, I presume we speak of the email we supplied to NYU so that they can get in contact with us. Personal email?

@liangg I like the emphasis on ONE I wish I could say it with such emphasis to the office of undergrad admissions

Everyone, are y’all planning on dorming, renting, or commuting?

My transcripts are missing too apparently. I called an their missing my h.s. transcripts, but also transcripts from a community college that I never attended. Weird. So annoying because I requested h.s. transcripts about four months ago. I just want to find out if I’m in!

@reneyney14

Im going to rent somewhere in Queens not in the city
well, if I ever got accepted.

@Marrs85, where will you be transferring from? I’ll be renting also. But in the city. Of course if I was accepted. Well either way because if not nyu or Columbia then Fordham.

can applicants have nyu emails? i did think so? if anyone does have an @nyu.edu email address can you please describe how you got one?

thanks

Hey guys, I’m sorry I have one more random question –> Does NYU give out ID Numbers to everyone applying as well as Net IDs?

I’ve been reading the thread for a while and someone mentioned mid term reports. It freaked me out because I hadn’t sent one so I called NYU and they said that mid term reports are only required on a case by case basis. If you were supposed to send one, they would have notified you, however if you sent one without having been asked for one, it won’t affect your application negatively.

@raduga24 –> Thanks for posting this! I never sent in a Midterm Report, I’m just hoping that this is a good thing and not a bad thing. :/

@ Lauren229-- the way the lady made it sound was that they only ask for it if they need some extra information about you. So what I’m assuming is if they like you but arent sure, they request some info that might push you over the edge. If they didnt ask for one then I think you were either a straight up no or a straight up yes. Good luck!
