@reneyney – Okay, I added you!

@moxiemaya yeah i think doing a gap year would be great! im just scared to actually do it versus just getting my degree over with sooner. and if nyu still doesnt accept me, ill be stuck at some other school and still have 2 years to go! i would definitely love to go abroad though

Woooooo i got more east coast amigos! :)

:D hopefully you and lauren and everyone else get in… and we can have lots of fun :D

oh btw… when/if you guys add me… just say your cc username… that way I know who is who… otherwise I’ll get really confused and hit not now :X

@enve - Yeah, I know how you feel on that. I keep thinking about what I’ll do if I don’t get into any of the schools I applied to. I really don’t want to stay at my current school, but I’m also not a huge fan of going back home and taking classes at community college. That’s pretty much my only choice though… ah oh well. I just have to keep on believing I’ll get into NYU!
Going abroad is amazing, though, and I recommend it to everyone I talk to! The hardest part is coming back. Since most people don’t do it, they don’t have the same world-view as you. It’s something I really struggle with at my school. I can’t relate to 99% of the students here because many of them have never left Long Island.

Moi! (If this link doesn’t work, I’ll just find everyone)

Okay, now really, I just need to get in already…

Dude, out of all the boroughs of ny, long island kids are the ones I can’t seem to “get.”

Hahaha yes, I find myself saying “why are you like this?” a lot here… I don’t get them! Some of them are really nice, but they’re just so naive. The not-so-nice ones are straight up dumb most of the time. I have soooooo many arrogant people in my classes, but they don’t know what they’re talking about. Someone once spent a good 10 minutes ranting about how Islam is destroying America. I didn’t even know how to respond to that… most people in the class just agreed with him.

Ouch, only 91 friends Lauren?! hahaha

Wow… Maybe I’m a *****, but I would tear those kids apart (maybe incite a riot or two along the way).

Yeah… making friends is super difficult too, for obvious reasons. Most of my friends are transfers that didn’t do well at the schools they were at before, but live near Hofstra and commute. They think it’s better than going to CC, which makes sense I guess, if you have the money for the (outrageously expensive) tuition.

@coolio – shut up! haha, i currently have 87 people waiting in my add to friends thing… I am just lazy and normally anti-facebook. haha.

hahaha and you’re not allowed to say YOU’RE lazy. I’m the King of Lazy.

We can’t all be as awesome as people who call themselves “coolio”… please note the sarcasm. ;)

OH sheesh guys let’s not get all smiley facey. I mean as much as we are all friendly here and want to get in together, we technically are all competitors for the same school.

Haha I’m sorry I just can’t help but raining on everyone’s parade.

Seriuosly though, I think it’s wise for us to consider alternate options no matter how certain we are that we are going to get into NYU. At this point, no matter how optimisitic or pessimistic we are in our minds, it wont affect NYU’s decision. So, when we receive that rejection/acception, we can either be prepared with an alternate course of action, or not be prepared.

I personally, will probably just stay at my college, begrudgingly finish up my classes here, then aim to get incredible grades here so I can go to a top Grad School.

And that is really funny/sad about the Long Island people you speak of not really ever leaving the island - I really can’t imagine what it’s like being so sheltered.

@bizcollege – Exactly why we should smile! Competitors or not, it doesn’t make a difference at this point in the game… And I like smiling. It brightens the worrisome atmosphere of this thread. Whether or not we make it into the school, we can at least make the best of the waiting-game time period. I’d rather laugh a little than stress over what is out of my hands.

If I don’t get into NYU, I’ll probably go to RU and try to room with friends. I still have law school ahead of me, so I’m not too worried about where my undergrad education takes place (though, at the best school possible would be preferred).

Still, getting in would be lovely/ amazing.

I LOVEEED ELECTRIC ZOO FEST I WENT @2 years ago after graduation best time of my ****an life

@ello – Are you going to go this year? They extended it to be three days!

are tickets on sale? idkkk it depends on NYU, i plan on going to nyc but later on in the summer. are you from the city?
