golddog: i’ve heard from many, including a work friend who is a PSU alumni in his late twenties…that summer session is a wonderful experience and my friend says he wishes that he had done summer session. I think too, that it may make the often rough freshman first semester a little easier and more enjoyable as you many not have to carry as heavy a first semester load. Anyway…if you have PSU as one of your main choices, don’t necessarily be unhappy with a summer session admission. My son for one would be thrilled and is STILL waiting!

@eternalsunshinex: You’ll probably get it on Monday! I had that status last weekend and got my decision on Tuesday (because Monday was a holiday). Good luck!

thank you. I’m so nervous now…can’t wait I’ve been waiting since October.

my status also changed to “coming days” yesterday morning. nothing today, but monday can’t come fast enough!!

I’m somewhat surprised given my GPA, but I guess they saw my ECs which are full of leadership positions. Kinda bittersweet to not have my summer, but totally worth it for Penn State.

WE ARE!!!

got acceptance package in the mail today!!!
but my online status still hasn’t changed :-/

that happened to me too when i got accepted. don’t worry, it will change online in a few days, maybe even today still.

Hey everyone, just got my acceptance packet in the mail a few minutes ago. I was accepted to The College of Engineering at University Park for Summer 2010. After this inordinate wait (applied in late September, just heard back today…4 months!), I was expecting to get a letter saying I got into a branch campus, so I am glad I was accepted to UP period. It would have been nice to have a final summer of freedom before college, but I don’t really mind. The price in-state (compared to Purdue, the other school I’m considering, out of state…37k…ouch) is one of the major factors that will play into which school I ultimately choose. Oh, and for future reference, my stats were:

GPA: 3.74 GPA Weighted, 3.64 Unweighted

SAT: 1940 at Penn State (They only take your highest single-sitting score), 2010 superscored at other schools.

Extracurriculars: Pretty much nil, and I don’t believe it really played a factor if any in my admission. PSU comes off as very numbers oriented.

Also, my Penn State web portal still isn’t updated with the acceptance.

Congrats to all! Way to go, Sasquatch! Kind of surprised about your summer acceptance though. I would have been happy either way, too…

Thanks Slipjig, I am starting to wonder whether there was a clerical error or something on the part of my guidance counselor or Penn State admissions, but I’m not going to worry about it I guess. After that summer session it will be exactly as if I had gotten into Fall.

Summer isn’t that bad, my friend went and said she only had two classes a day, was done by noon every day, and there were great parties during the summer (for those interested). Plus she had one less class on her workload come fall.

That’s a pretty sweet gig, shogun. I’m not really into the partying scene but being done by 12, having the rest of the day to just hang out, and having some requirements already met when Fall rolls around are what I really like.

my status was changed to the “you will hear in the coming days” friday…should i expect to hear tomorrow morning? is it usually posted before 8 am? i am sooo nervous im really hoping to get into the fall semester…i feel like a ton of people who heard this past weekend got into the summer so im nervous that thats kind of whats left and the fall is done with acceptances…i have a 570 critical reading 660 math (1230) and a 93 average out of state…i applied for school of education
