[*]Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: They must have liked my app, otherwise I’d be rejected.

[] Number of Apps from Your School: 1; only me.
[] Common or Princeton App? Princeton app.
[] Other stats: 116 AMC 12, 4 AIME (2005 and 2006)
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] ECs listed on app: Student gov, yearbook editor-in-chief, museum tour guide, varsity track, lifeguarding, MUN, peer tutoring, piano-accompanist, cello-orchestra, choir-soloist, a lot of math competitions, essay competitions, NMSF, AP scholar award
[] Job/Work Experience: None.
[] Essays (subject and responses): I thought the Einstein one was really well done, I wrote 13 drafts for it. My AP Lit teacher absolutely loved my shorter essay about a person of influence. The engineering essay is the one that is seriously blah.
[] Teacher Recs: Should be really good, I have a personal / out-of-the-classroom relationship with both teachers.
[] Counselor Rec: Should be good as well, I came from a small school so the counselors know everyone.
[] Interview (feel and general location): None offered by Pton.
[] Hook (if any): Probably not? =)
[] Other stats: I went to Summer Science Program 2006 and Mathcamp 2004
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: Taiwan - I am an US citizen though
[] School Type, Average Stats of School (if available): Private, top 3 of each class generally go to Ivies.
[] Ethnicity: Asian American (bahhh)
[] Income Bracket: $80,000 or so
[] Gender: XY
[] Hooks: I thought living in Taiwan might help…lol.
[] Strengths/Weaknesses: I do a lot of ECs - probably the most at school (compared to other non-multiple-sports people). I think my grades are up to par – so probably the thing that hurt me the most is the lack of awards and such (I did Siemens Westinghouse this year but didn’t make it to the Semifinalist level).
[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: Too many qualified Asian applicants. =/ Some cutthroat applicant pool this year. And MAYBE my 690 in Writing HAHA.
[/ul]Other Factors: General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: I am finding solace in doing the MIT app. Hahaha =D Congratulations to everyone who made it! P.S. I love the Pton forum.

My friend got in! I was rather surprised at first because although she has an A average in her junior year, her courseload overall is quite average with almost no honors courses. I will post her stats as soon as I get in touch with her in person. Congrats to all acceptees!

and oasis, best of luck in RD, you look like an AMAZING applicant =p
sweet scores too haha. I dont think they count writing at all?
I like the XY gener =p

I think I’m going to wiggle out of Princeton ED (my uncle just got a job as a Harvard Professor and can get me in there). And Harvard was my first choice :)

I don’t really like the way Princeton does business. I’ll go to Harvard where an A is an A and they realize that everyone there is brilliant and are all capable of As. I don’t like that grade deflation bs at Princeton, even though I was accepted.
