I think I’ll just put down 3 for the AIME. A 3 isn’t going to affect my decision anyway, since many people will have much higher scores.

Good luck to you too, but remember, the AMC gets progressively harder as you shoot for 150!

That means you should send in as little supplemental information as possible ;)

maddy, Im doin pretty good… spending all my time working on like a bazillion RD apps… lol haha

to the deferreds…ly my dd applied ed to P…glowing recs, incredible interview, extra alum rec to the dean, full IB with a predicted 43…well, you get the pic. After a few days of ice cream for breakfast lunch and dinner it was back to the rest of the apps.

by april she really didn’t want to go to P anymore…which was a good thing since she didn’t ultimately get in :-)…but she did get in to many wonderful schools…brown, georgetown, swarthmore and harvard among them. This isn’t a rejection of you, but rather a sorry, we aren’t sure if you are the right puzzle piece for the class of 2011. you will be the right piece at many other fine schools where you, if you make the effort, will have a wonderful four years. Get those rd apps done, enjoy the holidays, and try what my d did…make a poster that lists each school you applied to with the one really great reason you want to be there…and then go back to school and keep those grades up!

thanks sarap! uplifting notes i must say… AM happy for ur D

Chances?

By my senior year, I will have completed 170 service hours and have some very good recommendations. I am also ranked top 5-10% of students and have held this rank throughout high school. Please chance me for the following:

ED to Princeton

there is no ED at Princeton

Either way, he has an amazing shot at RD. Just remember, Princeton is like a freaking lottery and reject a lot of perfect scores and students who are unique and have straight A’s. They have to fit in the URMs, the Alumnis, which easily take up about 2/5 students from the application pool. Don’t be surprised if you get deferred. A lot of good people get deferred/rejected (some genius’s too). Don’t let this Princeton University fool you with the one in the well known “A Beautiful Mind.” This is not that.

Amazing shot with 1900 SAT and 3.85 UW GPA?

yeah, i don’t get it. also, this is the decisions thread.

Yep an amazing shot. It’s a lottery, there’s no quota WindSlicer. I mean…look at hieronymus. He was amazing but he got deferred. Don’t be soo insular on SAT’s and GPA’s. Okay maybe with GPA…but not SATs.

Yeah, you’ve got an example going the opposite way.

Show me a non-URM who got accepted to Princeton with a 1900 or lower.

My friend who is asian and has good musical talents. There shown.

Neither of those was a valid sentence

You didn’t answer my request

Anyhow, I don’t want to turn this thread into bickering

ttyl.

A 1900 is hard to overcome, but it’s not impossible. But lets put it this way: No one has an amazing chance at Princeton. So many people get rejected who have such great stats, and its very competitive. But, the least one can do is apply and hope for the best.

Hmmm, I’m sorry but what is URM???

Btw, deferred too. Let me join you deferees…

So sorry, trangham. =/

URM means under represented minority.

Thanks, omz :)

A few days ago I didn’t think I’d be able to overcome deferral/rejection so well… Now I’m thankful for just not being rejected
since they’ve deferred so many amazing people…
