9 out of 11?!??! That is RIDICULOUS.

Well, ridiculous in a good way.
I wonder if they’ll all be friends next year. Probably not, right?

calculus-- no offense taken at all, lol. i get that all the time. i have a profound hearing loss, but i actually have something called a choclear implant which allows me to hear about 80% of noise and/or speech, which is on the low end of normal hearing. its basically a really high tech hearing aid. hearing aids dont work for people who are deaf or profoundly hearing impaired, becuase they simply magnify the hearing and obviously when you have little to no hearing, you cant hear well even with amplified noise. instead, with a CI a magnet is implanted in my brain (through surgery), and i have a magnet on the outside which is connected to a hearing processor, and viola! i can hear. its very cool. it was scary though when i got it because the success rate is low, and the only drawback of the CI is that it destroys all hearing, but i ultimately made the decision to get it (i was fourteen)

pleonasm, 20 or more statistic is actually from last year, when only two got in ED pton…so actually we’re probably going to have a much higher statistic this year, like 30 or so.

this year so many got in this year because we just have a really really strong class this year–we had 20 national merit semifinalists (this number is never this big usually). and it also just happened that the applicants who applied to Princeton from my school were a mix of recruits, legacies, and outstanding academic students…

and to cali780, i dont think this will reduce the number of kids that get in RD to Princeton–i do know that there will be less than usual in RD for my school, but not for the bay area. in fact, i think that Princeton is very into the bay area for some reason :-)

sorry for the long post

oh.my.God! that hearing aid thing sounds soooo cool and sophisticated. congrats! hope u enjoy your princeton years!!

wow guppy, i mean , YEh WOW…

my cousin has a choclear implant! it’s really funny though, when she gets mad at her parents she just pops it right off and ignores the world!

good for you guppy!!

LOL
wow that must be really frustrating for her parents =/

yeah it is
but before she got the implant, she learned sign language and they communicate with her that way

LOL that’s so funny…but wow, guppy, congrats

bump
ugghh, how can we get this stickied?!

this is random and im totally not in this group of ED people becuase i applied RD but im reallly nervous now!! my SATs are like nothing…nothing compared to most people in the ED realm and i am really nervous.lol.grrrrr.i cant wait until april comes because it is becoming really nerve racking waitingnow after reading people’s stats.sry for the randomness.lol.

Dont worry, most people on these forums make up their stats like nothing…;)

Don’t worry, perfect scores don’t mean you will be accepted, trust me I know

ohhh ok good to hear.lol.::::bitting nails:::::hahaha.

Maybe if someone PMs a mod, they will sticky it?

I tried that… :/

That’s dumb. They should make more mods or something.

We could just keep a completely ridiculous and worthless conversation going on so that it would be permanently bumped, so to speak. Becuase it’s not like we’ll ever run out of things to talk about. And also, it may “crowd” it, but the people who are actually looking for information will probably look in the beginning where people were actually posting stats.

why is this not stickied like the 2010 decisions?

Well, someone could just put a link to it in the already stickied ED thread, so that it could be bumped when the time comes.

bump .
