Official PSAT Score Thread

Do you think they’re going to SERIOUSLY step up the math sections in general to get it back to a normal curve…? Because these curves are just ridiculous and ruin it for many talented people who just made a couple dumb mistakes…there needs to be some distinction between those who can figure out how to do the problems and those who can’t, instead of making the test absurdly easy and just measuring how inclined one is to make mistakes. I missed 1 on the Saturday test I believe, and it was a ridiculous problem (probably level 1-2)

You do not lose an additional 1/4 point for a wrong fill-in. You still lose (or if you prefer “don’t get”) one point for a wrong fill-in, but it’s the same as if you had left it blank.

AlexMartin ~ My son is still waiting for his score and we homeschool. I’ll post when he gets the report, but I think the scores for homeschoolers may actually be a bit later than for those of you who can ask at school to find out your grade.

Many schools will receive their scores and then sit on them for a week as they sort them out and such…

where do you people live? Jmarsh or turkeybreath said they lived in New York, near the CB headquarters. Perhaps that can account for their earlier scores?

Starwarskid, you make an excellent point.

I got a 231 overall…two 80’s and a 71 in the reading section. I only got 4 wrong in that section though…I thought there was usually more padding than that? Like in SAT’s you could miss 4 and still get an 80…

luckyduckythesr, what were your raw scores for each section? What form did you take (W-Wed or S-Sat)?

Congrats with your score!

Still nothing here (Michigan).

Nice Job to everyone on this thread who has gotten their scores back!

If you’re school’s gave you your booklet’s, could you please type up questions 42 and 43 of the second critical reading section. I’m having a hell of a time trying to remember just exactly what I put for them.

luckyduckythesr must have taken the wednesday PSAT… because jmarsh missed 6 and got a 66
Also, the Saturday CR was way too difficult to fit that curve ( minus 4 = 71)

im tired of tyring to infer the curves…can anyone just take a realistic stab:

here’s my prediction

Math: 80 76 73 71…
CR: 80 78 76 74…
Writing: 80 80 78 77 76…

Please, anyone who has gotten their scores back from Wednesday test, type up questions 42 and 43. Help us out here.

i missed the 95th percentile cut off by three percentile :D. I didn’t really pay attention to my scores, they were in the 700s, and a 600 in CR.

bump bump bump

My predicted curve for the S form test (based on turkey’s scores) :
Math: 800 760 730 710 etc…
Verbal: 800 800 800 780 760 740 720 700 etc…

Yep, I’m optimistic.
