Official PSAT Score Thread

wenday…asdfsadf

80, 76, 73, 70, Omg!!!

Actually guys, I took it on Saturday…my serial number has S at the end and I remember taking it Sat AND that the crit reading was hard. I got no wrong math, 2 wrong writing (but still 80), four wrong reading (and 71)- since they were wrong and not omitted it might have counted for 5 wrong but it didn’t say that.

I got the real scoop. Go to <a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools;

All curves and scores and conversion scales for both the Wedsenday and Saturday PSAT’s. Everything you could want. Spread the word. I speak for most people , but what the <expletive> was up with curves on the PSAT?</expletive>

whoa, harsh CR

public class JavaPSATSCORE
{

String my_chance_at_a_good_score = “very low”;
System.out.println(my_chance_at_a_good_score);

}

ahhh WHY did i make so many careless errors on math. i hate myself… i am gonna get lower than i did as a sophomore :(((

I probably will too, Rika. Mind you, I made a 178 as a Sophomore…

ohhhh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

I don’t think I make the cutoff of my state!

does anybody receive their scores yet?

haz, thanks a lot
i guess they just made that
i checked awhile ago and it was for 2003.
my god, the curves suck.

do you think cb is purposely making the curves harder to keep or lower nms indices to prevent inflation?

i thought the reason that they were harder was that the test was so much easier this year

i thought it was much harder than the bulletin, that’s just me

I just compared the “Selection Index Percentiles and Mean Scores” of this year with those of last year. To my dismay, 214 was the 99th percentile of the 2003 test. This year 213 is the 99th percentile. The cut-offs will probably stay the same.

if you’re hoping for national merit, the curve doesn’t really matter because it’s the same for all students. That being said, I agree that it can really hurt you just for making a couple of stupid math mistakes. I actually like the curve (I had the Wed test). My best subject is math and I’m pretty sure I got an 80 or at worst a 76. With the writing curve you can answer 4 questions wrong and still get a 75. The CR curve is really strange: for really high scores (46-48) the saturday scale is more generous, for lower scores (37 down) the wednesday scale is more generous. I think I probably missed 5 questions on this section which would give me a 69. I’m guessing my composite is 220-224 which seems pretty good for how many questions i’m counting on missing.

i need these scores, if i do well then i get a new car. Man im soo anxious. but wow this curve is soo jacked, miss 1 math question you get 76 not only is the math curve hard but the writing one is crazy too

i wish i had that deal

ya my parents are smart, they got me to study for 4 months and have no life for this deal

I guess I’m shooting for NMS commended now :(

Estimated Score:
Critical Reading: 4-5 wrong, 1 blank = 670 to 690
Math: 0-1 wrong (didn’t guess, but i’m scared i bubbled something in wrongly) = 760 to 800
Writing: 4-5 wrong, 2 blank = 680 to 700

Total = 211 to 219 … cut-off for CA is about 216

My score depends on whether I made a careless math error!

cal, same here.

there is good news though. i think the average score went down. the cutoff indices could still go up, but not as much.

Is there a way of finding the percentage for each state. And if we know how many people took it in that state, we could find an index for that state!!
