Official PSAT Score Thread

it wasn’t the one about the teutonic knights was it?
i didn’t get my scores but i know i put c instead of e no error for that one

I missed number 13 (the answer was E but I put D)

I got my score report, but I haven’t gotten the test booklet back yet; my counselor hasn’t had time to get them out of the box. I told you all that I wouldn’t break the 200 mark :-/

Critical Reading - 62 (10 wrong, 0 omitted)
Math - 59 (10 wrong, 0 omitted…W-T-F was with that curve?)
Writing Skills - 77 (3 wrong, 0 omitted…only score I was happy to see)
Selection Index - 198 (95th %ile)

I wish all of them could’ve been a 77… Oh well, 95th percentile overall isn’t too bad.

Add on: What makes it just that much worse is that I live in MISSISSIPPI! We have about the lowest cut-off, and I was like 5 points away from it. I’ve been slightly depressed ever since I got my score report.

korey, don’t fret much- there’s the SAT still and you got winter break to study :)

it’s just a pre-SAT

if i didn’t get my PSAT score, but have gotten mail from such universities as hofstra and drexel. Does that mean that my score wasn’t high?

llol have fun at hofstra

what007, look at what they said for your intended major, b/c i’m still getting letters from colleges but they are using last year’s PSAT’s data because i changed my intended major this year, so you might be able to tell that way.

anyone know what percentile you have to be in to be commended or to get merit scholarship?

commended is basically 96% to 99% (it is not given according to the population of each state); the commended students is competing with the entire nation, and, again, you have to have 96% or up

I just got my Score Report Plus today, and my scores are as follows…

Critical Reading (which I wish would die): 58 …4 omits, 9 wrong
Math: 73 …0 omits, 2 wrong
Writing Skills: 74 …0 omits, 4 wrong [imo, this was the easiest section IF YOU PREPARED for it, like w/ a prep book or whatever. The amount of grammar that ETS tests is pretty small, but knowing exactly what they were looking for helped a LOT, at least for me.]

Selection Index: 205/97% …10 points away from PA’s 215 semi-finalist cut-off! UGH! Oh well…at least I came close. Hopefully the commended cut-off doesn’t climb.

My scores: (Saturday, PA)

CR- 69 (5 wrong, -6 raw)
M- 80 (0 wrong)
W- 80 (1 wrong, -1 raw) Something I noticed during the test (and this saved me at least 2 questions) is that the “which part of the sentence is wrong” section becomes a lot easier if you draw lines from verbs to subjects to make sure they’re in agreement. It saves you from making careless errors.

Selection Index: 229/99%

nice job mesotired9
yea, sometimes they try to confuse you by putting clauses or phrases in between S and V

CONGRATS, mesotired9 on the score!

I got my score back in Alabama (Wednesday Administration)

Verbal: 80
Math: 76 (One wrong)
Writing: 71 (6 wrong, 0 omitted)

Total Composite: 227

Yay!

Rock rock on!

Setzwxman ~ What school district are you in? Norrth allegheny doens’t have theirs back yet do they?

korey, wasn’t the cut-off for Mississippi 200 last year? There’s still a chance you’ll get semi-finalist standing.

200? Haha!! I got 200 LAST year!!
