nope… got the letter out again… semifinalist… that and commended are quite different so i’m pretty sure i didn’t read it wrong, that said her score was 72M 66R 63W

cjsb0160, you know you’re not going to get off that easy.

You don’t have to tell us where you got the cutoffs or who you got them from. Just tell us your “predictions” and the world will be a better place. And if you’re kidding…never again.

The harassment begins…

ok, i still haven’t gotten my PSAT back, and a bunch of questions in the second CR section are really bothering me! anyone who’s gotten theirs back and has the test booklet, what was the answer to the CR question with an answer choice that was “evoke a state of mind…”. And what was the answer to the last sentence improvement one in the writing section?

are you talking about the Japaneses guy who was moving from New York to Chicago? it’s number 37.
The description in lines 18-23(“I was… mirror”) primarily serves to
(A) depict a habitual condition
(B) justify a complaint
(C) convey a deep resentment
(D) explain a humiliating predicament
(E) evoke a state of mind(the answer)
the last one was B( Apparently, technological progress alone cannot guarantee quality of life.)

k now im getting freaked out because i don’t remember any CR section about a JApanese guy at all. All i remember was some Latino author lady and a passage about telepathy. THis is driving me crazy.

wed and sat had diff psat tests

Gahhh, stupid school. I still don’t have my scores back yet. The scores probably aren’t very good as my mailbox is getting pretty dusty.

I am kind of new with all of this stuff. I got a 204 selection index and am in the 97th percentile. (63 CR, 66 M, 75 W). Compared to the rest of your scores, I did bad. But I improved so much from last year. I did the best in my class. What should I expect, considering I live in Illinois?

Commended. Semifinalist is around 213-216 in Illinois. It was 216 last year which was a record high by two points. Probably will be lower this year, probably around 214-215.

Hello.

What is the commended cutoff for Indiana? My son the Sophomore got a 204 this year and he’s fretting about how much he has to improve to reach semi. (He didn’t like his scores on the English sections and has checked out gobs of vocab books from the library and is threatening to take Latin 3 next year to bring up those scores.) I thought telling him he would’ve made commended this year may calm him down. Or not…

By the way, he received his scores Dec 15th. His school district pays the fee to have all the Sophomores in Honors English classes take the PSAT. Works for me!!!

Your son, the sophomore, has to only get about 8 points higher when he takes the PSAT next year to reach the NMSF status in Indiana. Don’t worry!!!

My friend said that she’s recently gotten letters in the mail from schools like Columbia and Washington U. in St. Louis. What kind of indicator is that as to what her PSAT scores might be?

This sucks. I got a 214 and I live in Illinois. I’m going to be tense for a whole year!!!

Will the fact that there are 55,000 people instead of 50,000 people being recognized going to affect selection indices???

i thought it was obvious that i was not serious mijehar
because College Board doesn’t even have the cufoffs for this year yet

commended is national, not state, usually around 200

Hey guys… it’s me… the guy that posted the questions of the PSAT the day after the test date…

I got my scores back, and **** i’m ****ed to say that I got totally massacred.

54CR, 68M, 67WR

189 TOTAL (92nd %)

…

This is fairly sad considering I’ve worked hard since than and have been getting around 1450 ~ 1500 in the 10 Reals, oh well, I’ll just have to do good on the March test

grumpybear -

My son the sophomore received material from Washington in St. Louis, and he got a 204.

Is anybody taking the SAT in June?

I got my back quite early.
51 CR
70 M
74 W
94th %
I am a sophomore and going to take it again next year.

If we now how many people took it in a state and the exact percentiles of each scale score we could possibly predict a cutoff score. Where can we find that information!!!

Anybody get a 212 on the PSAT? WHat percentile is that? What does it say on your score report?
