@sippingcoffee Haha thanks! I thought it would suit this site pretty well.

We used the Palms method yesterday for DD score and then found the jacob brunson link. Wish we had known aboiut the jacob bruson link first! It would have saved a lot of time. We did have to go in and adjust the score as the brunson link was using the Sat test curve and she took the Wed. test.

@sippingCoffee what charts are you looking at? In looking at the state cuts between the class of 2014 and 2015 one state , Wyoming went up one point, 5% of the states stayed the same and all the rest went down. I think you may be comparing the class of 2013 to the class of 2014 were there was a significant increase in the state cut off scores across the country.

I was thinking the same thing 3scoutmom. Most states seem to have a pattern of up then down. This would be an up year. Too bad as my daughter missed last year by one point, so I’m thinking she is going to be a few points shy.

@zoemurr you just never know, there are many variables, I think population shift plays a bigger part than people think, and some states seem to have much wider swings than others. I just wish they didn’t wait so long to release the cut offs, I don’t see why this part has to be such a mystery!

Dear all,
I just got my scores back today (W form) and it turns out that @Palm12341’s method and the raw scores which Jacob’s calculator yields are ACCURATE. Thanks again!

M: 80
CR: 63
W: 73 (gah, the curve…)

So 216 in TX; can someone estimate my chances for NMSF?
Fingers crossed…

^maybe … last year was 218 and the year before 219, but the year before that was 216 so there’s some hope.

Any chance Ohio could be 211

Do the Palmer’s and Jacob’s methods work for sophmores who have never logged into QuickStart?

@alphabot It worked for me; as long as you already have a College Board account, it should work.

What did you put in for the access code?

You don’t have to put one in; if you look closely, it says “if you have it” or something. I missed it the first time too xD

Ok, the Jacob method doesn’t work for me because it gives me time out error (Bad Gateway). The Palmer method gives me the error
Sorry, you need your access code in order to connect to this year’s College QuickStart before February 1 (Error AFS06a). when I try to access without the code. What does this indicate?

Please report your PSAT scores here. and help keep my thread alive:

@alphabot - Just log in to College Board, then past each link, follow palm’s directions, etc…you do not have to access QuickStart itself. Used Palm’s method last weekend, got official results 2 days ago from school, they matched.

DS got 223 in Washington (Wed test/Form W) 74 CR, 71 M, 78 W. Our small, rural school has only had one commended student in the past (and no NMSF)…so DS score is very nice for our little world!!!.

@3boystogo I’m a sophomore, so no help here.

@3scoutsmom yea that’s probably it…the chart I looked at was horribly formatted

I got a 231 and I’m a junior from Indiana.
80 CR, 73 M, 78 W.

Congrats!!
