palm’s method worked for me… I got a 238! :D

Can anyone upload the psat access code??

@eleydadadibida - It’s unique for everyone.

Congrats, @16elir, that’s incredible! :)

I got 221 in Texas.
Calculate my chances of making national merit?

@stephiey that score will certainly make the cut in TX. Last year it was only 218 and the year before was a record high at 219. Congrats on the good score!

@3scoutsmom thank you so much! :)

Do you guys think the psat cutoff scores will go down? It seems like everyone here has been getting fairly high scores so I’m worried that the cutoff might go up…

It’s too soon to tell, the cut offs for most states went down last year, so some think it will go up this year but others think it may go down again. No one really knows but I would not base a guess on cut offs from scores posted on CC. CC tends to attract the high scorers and is not a cross section of the population.

I scored 98%, 99%, and 99% higher than the juniors in my state, however, my scores compared to the juniors in the nation are 97%, 99%, and 98% higher, so does that mean the cutoff score will go down in my state because I scored higher than more people in my state compared to the nation?

@gkma98 your scores are only compared to others in your state, it doesn’t matter what the national average is for National Merit.

@GKMA98 what is your score and what is your state?

@3scoutsmom
What do you think of a 225 in NJ? I’m really happy with the score but since it’s so borderline in NJ, do you think the cutoff could jump 2 PTs to a 226? I’m praying that it doesn’t and the only thing on my side is the fact that no cutoff has ever gone above a 224 before…

I think if the cut off goes up it would only be by a point, my gut reaction is it that it will stay the same. I think you are safe but honestly you are still ‘on the bubble’

How accurate has the Jacob Brunson link been?? Just checked my scores with that method and saw that I didn’t improve at all in CR :’(

@3scoutsmom
Thanks for the reply! I suppose I better stop worrying about it now and move into other things regardless of the result.

@pdubs97
Depends on when you took the test. The link uses the Saturday test curve but it is completely correct with number wrong per section. So I would go find the releases curve for Form W if you took it Wednesday on CB’s website and use the number correct that the Jacobs link gives you to verify your actual score.

Good luck but don’t get too down if it isn’t what you expected! There’s a lot more important aspects to life and the college app process.

@Potter16, I omitted some CR questions and heard that if you do that, there is some glitch in the accuracy of palm’s and Jacob’s system. It also said that I answered 2 wrong that I know for a fact that I answered right and both happened to come right before I omitted a question. Was this the omitted question glitch that was previously mentioned?

@averagewhiteguy It may be that nobody knows the answers to your questions! I can’t say for sure because we haven’t seen our real results yet, and my son says he didn’t omit any. I had assumed that the glitch is that you have to remember to subtract 1 pt for each omit. Jacob’s code probably can’t do that because it doesn’t know. I don’t know what omits will look like using Palm’s manual hack. I thot they would either show up as incorrect (but then you would have to remember to avoid the unnecessary 1/4 pt penalty) or they would be ignored (so you would have to remember to account for them on top of incorrects). Just don’t know.

palm’s and Jacob’s system were both accurate for my DS who got his result today but he did not omit questions.

Got a 216 on the practice test
got a 197 on the real test… sucks
