Official Questbridge National College Match 2010-2011

In reference to the Brown question, I had the same question and actually called them last week. I was told that they WILL accept the QB application instead of the Common App, but I was further told that I am not required to submit any additionaly materials, most particularly a transcript which I am most concerned about, which has confused me.

I thought that we would need to submit an official transcript from my high school regardless; however, I was recently told that it was not necessary. Do we or do we not need to mail in an official transcript? I understand that Common App schools will actually download them, but for other schools such as that of Brown, will we need to mail in for them? And if so, where can I find information on the address?

@ knt102000

Thanks for the info! That’s good that we are allowed to use the QB app in lieu of the Common App.

And did you rank Brown in the College MAtch? If so, weren’t we suppose to already have submitted the transcript?

Anyways if you haven’t, I think the address is listed here:

[College Match Program: Brown Requirements](QuestBridge)

@ knt102000

Thanks a bunch! Yes, a few schools say they will accept the transcript that comes along with the QB application so no mailing necessary, BUT many want a hard copy. Therefore, it would be best to mail the transcript for all the non-common app schools.

If they do not need it, they can simply disregard it.

I did not actually rank Brown and I am simply adding it to the schools I would like to apply to through Regular Decision via QB, so therefore they do not have my official transcript as of yet.

I thought the information in the link SwimmingChicken provided was only for Finalist who RANKED Brown? I did NOT rank Brown, so would the information still be the same? If so, does that also apply to all the other QB partner schools as well?

@ knt102000

I would assume the same person/committee handles this type of paperwork but I may be wrong?

Oh and to address your last question, since most of the schools request that you mail transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, I would also assume that those addresses are accurate. But if you want to be sure, you may want to email the specific colleges that concern you.

@ SwimmingChicken

Ahh ok, with that in mind, I would assume, if the information you just provided was accurate, then the supplements (Rice, USC, Notre Dame, etc.) without Common App and other materials would be sent to the same address as those in the respective links (Office of Undergraduate Admissions)? Ahh thanks a dozen, I never realized to check on the Ranked Finalist pages for the addresses (Silly me)

@ knt102000

No problem!
I hope what I told you was correct but yeah I assume so.
Too many assumptions :P

do we have to resubmit stuff like CSS profile, financial documents, transcripts, etc if we already sent them to schools we ranked? thanks!

@avakiantz, try to call the admissions office of the school you’re applying to, I don’t think you have to resubmit materials, but call to double check!

Hey guys!

For our teacher recs, are we supposed to obtain two MORE recs in addition to the ones we had for our QB app? Are those being forwarded with our QB app?

I’m sort of confused as to what to do because the Common App doesn’t let you submit its application until you’ve added the teachers to the school forms section, but I’m not sure if I should be getting extra teachers to be writing new recs for me.

When we forward our QB applications, do colleges recieve all the documents we sent to QB? Like Recommendation, Transcript, Test Scores, ETC?!

AND do we have to forward our QB app to colleges that are not considering it as the main admission anyways? (like stanford, princeton, etc)

@flyaex - I’m not sure. Contact the individual schools perhaps.

@newaccountt QB forwards your whole app, but you still need to send in Official score reports and transcripts and midyear report. For the latter question, I think it would be a good idea to forward your QB app as they use it as supplemental material.

For colleges that require supplements as additional material for the regular decision round without the Common App, namely Swarthmore and Wesleyan:

Since both will take the Questbridge application in lieu of their original applications, can I simply submit their supplements online via the Common App website without submitting the actual core of the Common App (the personal statement, academic info, extracurriculars) since that component isn’t required? Are the Common Application and the Supplements Section independent of each other? Would my supplement not be processed if I didn’t follow through and submit the core of my Common App as well?

Or would it just be easier to fill out the paper copies of each of the supplements and submit it via postal?

Yea, I got that part but, do I still have to send in Teacher’s Recommendation or would it be attached to my QB app when I forward it? I am asking this because I do not want to burdon my teacher again by making him do more rec letters :P

collegefreak34 #2174…didnt you already send your CSS stuff for the first round?

what’s with some people saying we have to resubmit transcripts and test scores? we already send them; do we really need to resend?

@avakiantz: Most schools say that you don’t have to resend test scores or transcripts, but it all depends on which school you’re applying to. You might want to call the school’s admissions office and ask.

@forthenguyen, the Common App is independent from all other components of the college application, which is the supplement/teacher and counselor recommendations/mid-year report/School forms. You can submit a supplement or any other component without having to turn in the actual Common App. Hope that helps! :)

Would I still be considered a Quest Scholar if I was accepted through RD but I did not use the Questbridge app?
