I heard that someone did get some merit from Rice. They are on the FB group. Anyway, I was just expecting more info about Rice and what to expect in the upcoming days. Or if we needed to know anything else now that we are accepted. I’d honestly like a large info book about the school seeing as I dont have one. A general announcements book would have been fun to browse through too.

I have a question-

What is this “optional essay” for the stats? Is it the short 150 word essay in the common app?

Subjective:
* Essays:
* Optional Essay?(Y/N):
* Teacher Recs:
* Counselor Rec:
* Supplemental Rec(s)?:

no, I borrowed from a board that did have an optional essay. same with the supp recs

Ohh, alright. I was just wondering because in this thread, someone put “yes” for that.

Quick question, did any of you apply ED through questbridge after not getting the college match? And if so, when are people going to get acceptance letters? When do they go out?

This is a very happy ED thread - so many acceptances!

I agree neethus. I was really surprised, considering a ton of other people got rejected from other universities (stanford, yale… lol)

Did Rice release how many applicants were accepted early?

I applied through QuestBridge, then ED to Rice. I got my acceptance letter via e-mail on dec 15

I don’t think they will post that information until regular decision applicants are up

yay! congrats on getting into rice y’all!
you might be getting a general announcement in the mail soon (you can look at what type of classes/ major you are interested in for next year[s]!) and/or random info about your acceptance to rice. mostly, you should be figuring out the financial aid. the big things don’t really happen until may/ june when you get a HUGE package about filling out roommate info/ general facts about yourself (and i think we got the summer reading book by then too…). until then, RELAX!
and at least TRY your 2nd semester lol. don’t be like me and fail all but 2 of your AP exams! :P

Hi,
Congrads on your acceptance to Rice!
I too am very interested in the school. I was intrigued by something you said: you said you kept in contact with admissions people and students without botherng them.
I was wondering if you could describe what exactly you meant by that, especially with the adults. Did you email them about applications? Or keep asking questions?
If you could specify that would be fantastic.

Thanks!
AD24

PS: that was for elpresidente09

Go to sessions and talk to them. Just mention your name and if they are interested, they will remember.

By sessions you mean the info sessions?

info sessions yes. Also keep in contact via email. That doesnt mean you spam them

haha, no I don’t plan on doing that.
when I keep in touch should I continue asking questions about Rice, tell them how my application is going, etc? because I would imagaine that would only take up one e-mail.

(thanks for the feedback)
