<p>last year there were like 600 ED applicants and they took around 150.</p>
<p>According to CollegeBoard, 520 students applied ED last year, of whom 156 (exactly 30%) were accepted.</p>
<p>i heard that this year, there were 900 ED kids from Tamara Siler who visited us</p>
<p>This year they have more than 700 students that applied early decision into Rice according to admissions director</p>

<p>pvtejasvi, did that person say how many were accepted, rejected, and deferred. And, I met a kid who was deferred and then accepted.</p>
<p>Yeah they 0-50 people get deferred under early decision and according to the website they get in anyway.</p>

<p>I think they defer because they cant justify accepting too many people from one area - like at my school one person got in, another rejected and I was deferred…</p>

<p>yes and there isnt anything special in it. All it is is a folder and your acceptance letter and FA Award letter and information about your deposits. There was also a FA pamphlet. Very devoid of anything new or informative. Wasnt what I was expecting at all. I received it yesterday</p>
<p>Yea i was let down as well. I was hoping for some more info in it… i guess that will come in june. but thats so far away</p>

<p>Yes, there was a pamphlet outlining the available merit scholarships, but nothing specific to me personally.</p>
