OFFICIAL SAT Physics - October 2014

I don’t think that anyone made a thread for sat physics… so I made one :)

We only have two more days until the test!!!

Hey! I live in India, so mine is in exactly 17 hrs! LOL kinda nervous. Anyways do we mass energy equivalence on the test? What books have you guys been using? Also how many can we leave omitted and get 800? It varies from book to book. On Kaplan its 63, on PR its lower and on Collegeboard blue book its only 59! So i guess leaving a max of 10 questions should be in the safe zone for an 800?

Hey guys! I’m from India and my test is just 14 hrs away! I’ll be taking the Physics and Math Level 2 tests… I prepared for the test from Barrons. Good luck everyone!

Hey Bengal85! Fellow Indian here… 10 should be a safe number. Best of luck to you! :-)

hey @TechieCSG‌ ! Are you taking the subject tests to apply through the DASA program?
Best of luck bro! I’ve been using Barrons and Princeton review. If you’re studying in India math should be pretty easy!
Got an 800 in May! :)

Uh no. What is it ?
Yeah it is pretty easy!
Congratulations man ! :-)

Are you an NRI? Well since you’re in India, you must have heard about the NITs and IIITs.
If you are an NRI or a Foreign National, you can apply to them using your SAT 2 Subject Test Scores.
It’s called the DASA program. Check out the website: https://www.dasanit.org/

Guys i forgot to indicate at the title… this is a discussion thread for US SAT Physics test. I think that international students get a different one…

Out of curiosity, why are there separate Intl and US threads?

not necessary…

Are we allowed to discuss the answers after the test?

PLEASE anybody feel that the test for intl is VERY hard?

hey I am an indian too…!!!
could any of you tell me which is the best book for SAT phy…I just have Kaplan now…will that be enough?

@Sparkkid1234‌ D***, I felt the test was pretty tough too… i had gone through all the tests in Kaplan, barrons and PR and some questions on the real test were never a type I encountered before.

Anyone want to make a doc for the US version?

does anyone remember the two wave questions asking about the wave speed, giving you the equation relating tension and density? I got 1/root(2) for the first question (and that should be right), does anyone remember the question prompt for the second one?

i put root 2 times X

the second was 4, had to do with frequency change

if frequency is doubled in Y, then its speed is doubled, as their wavelengths remain the same

for the electroscope with the positive leaves, the insulating rod has to be positively charged right?
