@gugg do you know of anyone on the east coast who has received word either way this week? the mail seems to be taking and inordinately long time to arrive. sorry to repeat questions that have already been asked, I’m sure but…do both rejections and acceptances come in the same sort of envelope (small)?

@NY - jkain told me that his SCA decision hasn’t gotten there either and he lives on the East coast.

Acceptances come in a very large packet that weights about a pound according to DHL. Rejections come in a tiny, thin envelope.

So acceptances come via DHL and rejections come by US post?

I think DHL doesn’t do domestic courier service. Only international.

DHL is international. Acceptances come in large white envelope-snail mail. Big folder inside white envelope. Inside big maroon folder–First page congrats, second page what major you are accepted. Sometimes second page will tell you that SCA hasn’t decided yet. If SCA hasn’t decided yet, you will get an additional letter that comes in small envelope, I’m assuming from last year. Rejections come in thin white envelope.

Why is this topic so endlessly interesting? Do we never tire of wanting to know more and more details. Does the envelope have a special scent? What font do they use? Is it a cream colored envelope? White? Actual stamps with pictures (special Hollywood series…Gary Cooper? John Wayne?) Machine stamped? How much postage does it cost?..On and on and on…Just kidding. Sort of.

I’m on the East Coast and I have not received a SCA letter of any kind (my acceptance letter stated College of Letters & Sciences Undeclared major.

I’m on the East Coast and I have not received a SCA letter of any kind (my acceptance letter stated College of Letters & Sciences - Undeclared major.)

OKAY

i’m wondering if anyone can help with my problem

I spoke with SCA today (about transferring) but theres a couple issues…

1) I was admitted to the top program here for film so any production/film credits I take WON’T be transferable
However, I do plan on transferring to USC-- so what I’m thinking is I’ll have to be enrolled in film and spend every waking hour of my life working on other GE’s that will transfer…

(Just wondering if anyone has any other ideas for me)

I could just do part of a general BA but my concern is that if smothering were to play out unfavorably with transferring to USC, I wouldn’t have a film program to fall back on.

Also… here its by Credit I don’t understand these “units” because we only take 8 courses a semester (roughly) each worth one credit. If anyone has any idea what a UNIT means it would be a BIG help.

Thanks so much and for those who haven’t heard GOODLUCK!!!

Best. Post. Ever.

BUMP, we are SCA. We can’t be on page two! Good Luck everyone, seems like todays the day. Its been a great journey.

just curious…If any of those accepted to Production are still lurking on this thread…did your status change to “acted on…” at the end of this month like almost everyone else? My feeling is that they changed everyone’s to “acted on” if they had made a decision on them even if the decision was back in January.

Well, this is probably the last day that we will visit with each other so regularly. Though I’ve only been aggressively following this thread for about a week, it seems like I’ve know all your funny names forever. It’s been a very interesting experience and even though for most of us it will not end in ours of our loved ones attending the USC SCA, for me, at least, it hardly matters. It’s good to try for things that you are not likely to ‘succeed’ at. Playing it safe is the kiss of ennui. Life at its best is about trying new ways and seeing where it leads. Keeping things fresh through stretching, allowing ourselves to desire, and seeing any outcome as an opportunity for growth. So, may we all see any luck as good luck. And one last question from this reporter…What’s going on with “The Back Door?”

@chattykathy - that’s what I thought too… I felt like USC was trying to hide my rejection by doing that. :p

@newyorkerII - amen. and… no idea! you may as well just try it at this point. :P

Just got my rejection in the tiny envelope. Dated 3/27

this is a strange feeling, but it’s not a strong one. I had a feeling this was coming…
Thanks everyone!

Sorry, gugger. :(

Giving this one last bump in case anyone wants to update.

If accepted, does SCA also send you a separate letter relevant to your program welcoming you?

Yes. If they haven’t then you should be admitted for CLAS-Undeclared until they send you another letter.

Well I got my acceptance to SCA/USC in one big combined letter. But I was wondering if SCA will also send me another letter for the Writing program specifically. I guess I’ll see…

What does it say in the SCA letter?
