Official Spring 2014 Cornell Transfers Thread

Ahmadmalik18,

I received an email at 10:00 am today, subject “Cornell Decision Notification.” All it said was that Cornell would like to share some important information regarding admission decision notification. It then included a link that took me to my decision. There’s no actual decision in the email itself but rather on the link in the email.

Thanks a lot!

Congrats on your acceptance. ILR is a fantastic school, and I’m sure you’ll do amazing things there!

From last year’s forum: “ILR told me that admissions decisions will be given out late november through early/mid december, and usually ILR is one of the first, if not the first, to give out decisions.
Earlier decisions are most likely for special cases such as GT or clear admits.”

I guess ILRieS14 you are a clear admit then :stuck_out_tongue: So cool Williams College.

Also applying as a transfer to AEM. I saw two others are applying as well, but does anyone have an idea when we should hear back?

Would anyone suggest whether it’s good practice to call and follow up regarding a decision?

Maggie V, I don’t think that GTs are considered for Spring terms. Are they even given acceptance letters for Spring transfers? I’ve heard that transfer students, like all of us, can even be given GT status as a decision. So, I guess that high school seniors aren’t the only ones who are GTs.

Yeah Chris, I’ve also heard of transfer applicants getting a GT decision.

Nostalgia14, isn’t it freaking weird? It’s like they’re delaying us even more (further) after we’ve done everything to show interest and demonstrate a perfect fit. Even when we’ve matured and dissociated ourselves from how we were when applying as high schol seniors, it’s like we still have to grow even more.

Yeah I guess either GT decisions or GT applicants will be notified earlier. Its better than nothing though.

You’re right it is annoying haha. Especially since getting a transfer GT from spring for fall would be weird because they’re saying you would be accepted among next semester’s larger and therefore I would assume stronger applicant pool . It’s beyond me, but hey it’s slightly better than a rejection.

…And guess what. Those grades better not slip because that GT will be rescinded faster than you can say “No…I’m sorry! I promise I’ll get them back up!!!”

Hey guys! Have to say that seeing this thread made me feel not alone during this most struggled time. “Xmas tree” " phone battery running low"… they all have happened to me!

Anyways, first things first. I am currently a sophomore and applied for SHA spring 2014.

Huge congrats to all who has already been admitted, and… the rest of us, hang in there, we will make it!

Share a piece note I saw today on my yogurt
---- “Sometimes all it takes is a positive attitude. Believe in yourself and think optimistically to succeed in your personal goals!”

Good luck ccuser66! Akawasaki and I also applied to SHA for the spring! What are your stats if you don’t mind me asking?

Yes, of course! Stats are very important. Good job for paying attention, Emalo54321!

Thank you Chris00656!

You’re very welcome, fellow Cornell applicant!

Coming home from class today, I could see the big envelope sticking out of my mailbox from my driveway. It was just the corner and I could see the red circle and I sprinted to mailbox. The red circle was the postmark, not the Cornell emblem. Just random mail.

Wow! I’m sorry about that, ILRCORNELL! Don’t give up! Do you not live on campus at your school?

Guys, I emailed Cornell today and I asked if my application would be sent to review, even though my Midterm Report has not been completed yet. A representative told me that it won’t be sent until the Midterm Report was complete, submitted, and processed. Well, I guess I won’t get my decision until early December. I hope I can bare the pain.

I bet the mailmen have a blast during application season. “194 burmington rd. cornell acceptance letter. Hmmm that’s the house with the kid that never says thank you. I will deliver this letter next week.”

Hang in there Chris. I think they’re processed pretty quickly once it gets in though-since it is the last piece they need.
