Official Spring 2014 Cornell Transfers Thread

Yeah I am getting really nervous everytime I check my email, il even scroll through my entire spam mail just to be sure ahaha!

Guys I need your help. How do you think CAS compares to Columbia GS. I know this is out of subject, but I really need to know this. Thanks guys.

I just used the portal that nostalgia posted. Unfortunately, can no longer log into housing anymore so I don’t really know what’s up with that.

Dolche I also checked my spam. Sigh haha.

LeDonyc I found this~ it isn’t exactly what you asked for, but I guess you get some opinions- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/business-major/1184846-cornell-ilr-vs-columbia-gs-financial-econ-consulting.html

Playerpiano- that is so weird. Either way I wouldn’t read too much into it. If the affordable healthcare website can have issues, I’m sure cornell’s housing is no exception haha.

Daddyk64, I don’t drink because I’m only 17, but a Cranaberry Juice would be fine. LOL! I’d love to take you up on that offer!

Ccuser, you’re welcome, buddy!

Playerpiano, that’s weird, but I would definitely take that as a positive sign. Especially for you, I feel that you have nothing to worry about.

Hey, guys! What if the unthinkable happened - us all being guaranteed transfers? Would you be mad, or would you understand and be happy because you’ll be guaranteed a spot?

We’ll leave all the competing to the new kids on the block for transferring. By then, we would all be way too experienced!

Chris if we do get in, I hope you understand that drinking with us will not be optional, but mandatory hahaha xD
Man if I got GT i wouldn’t know whether to be happy or sad. I guess another semester of cheaper school wouldn’t hurt, but Community college is so extremely boring.

Do transfer students typically attain a GT option?

I don’t think typically, but it definitely happens.

Wow, Nostalgia14! You’re really adamant about that. I’ll just make sure to bring a water bottle with me, so that I can dilute the alcohol.

I’m not sure on that one, emalo54321. It would definitely be interesting to find out.

Thanks Chris00656! Is there anyone out there that knows if it’s typical for transfer students to be offered a GT option, or is it a rare occurrence?

oh I didn’t see your reply Nostalgia! Thank you!

I think it was just a glitch, I can definitely still log in! Thanks guys!
I’ll keep you updated!
And I think GT is so rare for transfers that I wouldn’t even worry about it. Definitely better than nothing though!

So, I made a Facebook page for whoever has been accepted (and hopefully everyone else on this thread will get accepted too really soon) to like, and maybe we can help each other get around Cornell come January. And, apparently, organize some type of alcohol drinking activities (lol). Let me know if you are all interested.

Since Cornell is a fairly large school, would you guys say that our schools are far apart (as in walking distance)? I hope not because I would like for us all to meet up sometimes on campus.

^I think most transfers end up choosing to live on west campus? Not sure though.
Thanks for the fb create Jpapas. Hopefully we’ll use it haha.

When I visited Cornell a few weeks ago it’s definitely a hike from West Campus area to HumEc, but not too bad…maybe an 8 minute walk.

Hopefully!

I feel like I know Cornell like the back of my hand from “touring” the school using Google Maps! hahaha

Haha! I am actually doing that right now!

All the images date back to 2009. It seems like they were renovating some of the buildings! I’m sure the aesthetics are even more beautiful today!
