idk Stanford is my clear reach so I have nowhere really to throw me eggs into. If I get rejected I might as well put myself out there with apps but I don’t think my college counselor will let me

^^ I didn’t know that- that’s great XDDDD

But we haven’t quite hit the epicness of last year’s discussion thread… which had 5,000 posts by the time they were done.

^ What do you mean, your counselor won’t let you put yourself out there if you’re rejected?

Yeah, chells319, we’re a chatty bunch ![]()
And Michelle, you’re not going to submit ANY of your apps until after Stanford decisions come out? While I understand your argument, I don’t know why anyone would pass up this peace of mind.

what difference does it make if all you have to do is click the big yellow button. I’ll have fine peace of mind as long as everythings prepared to be sent.

I’ll be applying to 3 places plus Stanford no matter what, so why not submit before I hear from Stanford? Get it out the way.

Well, I suppose everyone’s mind works a different way. That’s just what I needed to do to calm myself down. Then again, I’m a pretty high anxiety person. For those of you that don’t feel the need to do it, I applaud your money saving skills…?

Haha. I’m sort of in between. I’ve applied to three schools so far (Stanford and two safeties) and I’m going to submit USC by Dec 1st. The only reason I’ve submitted those apps is because I want to be considered for merit scholarships. All my other schools I’m going to prepare but not submit til after we hear back from Stanford.

yeah 70 dollars takes me two hours to earn

Ripemango- What the HECK are you doing for $35 an hour?

^Yeah, I’d like to know too. That’s a lot of moolah

Doing private tutoring for chemistry calculus and any math. Yeah I stopped volunteering a loooong time ago.

That’s expensive tutoring… I charge $15 an hour!

Yeah when I do ACT tutoring I get $15 an hour too. When I go to my math tutor, who is a physicist with a master’s degree in math, he only charges $20 an hour. But I guess that’s Springfield, MO for ya

I charge $10 - 12 per hour. That’s Nepal :p

the going rate here is about $20, but i charge $16 because i felt awkward asking for so much and only being in high school

Okay this is kind of a change of topic, but is anyone pumped for the Harry Potter premier!???!

^

Nope.
After the sixth movie (and book), Harry Potter is over for me.

I’m super psyched for the premier, but unfortunately volleyball state championships are the same weekend!! ![]()
(that is…if we win on Saturday)

I dislike fantasy… sorry folks!

I hope you win, Michelle! If not, at least you can go to the premier Thursday night!
I got my Cho Chang costume today (she’s half Asian like me!) and I am SO excited for next Thursday!!!
