i do want dec.10/15 to come, but that also means we’d be 15 days away from all our RD schools! So I think for now, I appreciate taking every day as it comes

if it’s the 10th though, my life would be much easier!

ahh… i know it came out on the 10th last year… but not sure about how many years before that.

this is so nervewracking haha… ><

well given the 7% increase i guess it’ll take more time to look over everything… that’s about 300 more essays to look over. Might take another 5 days :P

Haha thanks for the reminder, minniemouse! I’m sad I don’t talk to you more- you seem like someone I would really like! Chat me on fb sometime :)

Just got invited to an alumni interview. Kinda nervous, anyone have any tips? I’m been told to just stay informal and relax, but anyone else who’s gone through one have anything more specific?

Quandary, My DD had her interview a few days ago. It was very relaxed, and informal. It lasted about an hour. There were no difficult questions, just a conversation. I would go prepared with any questions you still have about Stanford.

yesss courtney we should talk more!! Everyone on this forum is so normal and chill, and it’s comforting knowing that I’m not alone in the admissions process.

Yeah, the first acceptances are starting to come in at my school… it’s kind of unnerving to hear somebody’s already got $20k from somewhere when you haven’t gotten a single decision yet.

I got a “likely” letter and phone call from my safety school and they said I’d have a decision next week, even though apps aren’t even due til January 2nd! It was so nice to hear, even though I wasn’t worried about being accepted. The peace of mind is awesome!

I know! Sweet Briar, my safety, is a common app school with a RD app date in the beginning of december. So I was SO happy to get a decision so early!

Knave! Congrats! (But, yeah… was wondering about that January thing…)

Yeah, I’m definitely going to submit at least one safety app today…

Actually, on that note, I was thinking about applying to a second school that’s likely to give me good aid, so I have a choice about where to go for a safety school. (My current safety is REALLY AMAZING for me in a lot of ways, but in other ways, it wouldn’t exactly be the best. The other school I’m looking at, on the other hand, is pretty good, but in almost every way.) The app for the second school doesn’t want anything past the basic Common App stuff and the ‘Future Plans’ section, so no extra work. Any thoughts?
