Official Stanford SCEA 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread

@UnsureOnLife
I completely think you’re making a very good, cool, calm, logical point.
I must confess though I verbally agree with you, mentally I am NOT that calm. Especially when 3 of my friends just got into Columbia and I’m getting that inevitable feeling of “Oh man, what about me?”

@ThatGuyC Our speculation is based on the past pattern of REA decision release dates. As well as phone calls to the admissions office.

@UnsureOnLife ditto everything that serendipitee said. I’m trying to maintain calm (mostly through copious amounts of chamomile tea). But it’s not working too well. I’m hoping to try to immerse myself in schoolwork tomorrow to get my mind off of this.

@unsureonlife, haha but last years guys were friends on facebook and had like regular video chats with each other

@Trekker5211 so the admissions office said that they may come out tomorrow?!?!?! oh the suspense

Ironic, one of my friends got into Columbia ED as well

ugh, one of my friends just got into columbia, another to cornell. i want this so badly, but i know we all do, and not all of us are going to get it. which sucks.
i should really do my homework instead of obsessing over this!

@unsureonlife and everyone else I suppose

BFF then? haha

Admission offices should just release them on the 15th and not release them any earlier any other years. I mean it certainly doesnt calm the applicants to have to speculate when they will come out.

twenty-one

has anyone noticed that the CollegeBoard admission statistics are outdated and misleading? For example they say columbia’s admit rate is 10% but last year it was 6.93%. Also, they say that washu’s admit rate is 20% but it was like 15% last year. you’d think that theyd update it every year

Stanford SCEA is harder than Columbia’s or Cornell’s (statistically)

All admissions rates are misleading. The 7% stanford always talks about doesn’t exist! It’s either 13% or 5%

I was pretty calm, then I go on FB and find out that so many people got into their dream schools early.

Calmness goes flying out the front door and gets squashed by a car.

I can imagine so many people freaking out if stanford doesn’t release decisions tomorrow LOL

Oh, man, I may kill somebody if that happens.

I believe I speak for most of us if decisions don’t come out tomorrow, then someone will pay the price … stares at Richard Shaw

[Countdown to Dec 9, 2011 3:00 PM in San Francisco](<a href=“Time since Dec 9, 2011 3:00 pm started in San Francisco”>Time since Dec 9, 2011 3:00 pm started in San Francisco)

i love this thing

Hahaha, I made that lol.

Here’s my personal one: <a href=“Time since Dec 9, 2011 3:00 pm started in San Francisco”>Time since Dec 9, 2011 3:00 pm started in San Francisco;

Hahah I love it too. I opened it in school the other day, and my friend who applied ED to Smith looked over, and just said “Wow, I don’t even think the Smith ED people got that into it.”

hey guysss! :slight_smile: i’ve been lurking this thread for a while, and i must say that I AM SO NERVOUS! especially since i’m supposed to go birthday celebrating tomorrow…:frowning:

…sigh…

1246 minutes till Stanford crushes 88% of applicant’s dreams.
