Official Stanford SCEA 2017 Applicants' Discussion Thread

GUYS…
IT"S OUT!!![Admission News : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University)

Dear god guys tomorrow morning!!!

I’m gonna know in less than 24 hours. I won’t be able to sleep tonight t_t

Haha Stanford making their announcement today definitely screwed everything up for next year’s class of concerned early applicants trying to predict the release date.

Does anyone know how long it takes them to get everything out/how long it took last year?

Tomorrow will be a very special day if I get in. Exactly 11 years ago, my grandfather passed away that night as we came home from Oxnard. He meant a lot to me as a child, and it was hard to see him go. I really want to get in to honor my grandfather and everything he did for me as a young boy. Grandpa, if you can read this, I’m dedicating this to you. Oh god, please let me go to Stanford!

Did any Legacy’s already find out? 2 from my school have already received their acceptances so I’m pretty sure some letters have been sent out already. You can call me a ■■■■■ but I have seen them both, and I’m not a legacy, but it makes me really nervous that they both already received notifications.

@Norwhale I would actually say it helps them. If you think of their rationale for releasing on a Friday it makes sense. They are closed on the weekends so it gives irate parents a chance to get a more level head. This probably helps them by avoiding thousands of phone calls. It also means that the students that are crushed by a rejection have the weekend to compose themselves and get ready for school the next week. All in all its actually quite a kind way to release the results.
For next years EA kids, they should just know that it is always released on a Friday.

Seeing that announcement just made everything seem so real, oh my god. Good luck to you all! I’m not expecting to get in but I still have that little spark of hope… :)

is stanford early action harder than than regular and if your grades arent exactly up to par (gpa a wittle low) but have a good sat score should u just wait for regular?

@loljk1123
Will your gpa increase if you wait for RD? and if it does is it even a significant increase?
Also i’m assuming this is next year

meh probably not

@AverageGatsby, as a legacy myself, I can confirm that legacies are not accepted early. The only two conclusions that I can come to about the two people you mentioned are either 1) they were recruited athletes who got likely letters, or 2) they applied through Questbridge, which I believe released results last Friday, the 7th.

21 hours, 57 minutes. good luck everyone, you’re in my prayers

^Questbridge came out the Friday before that.

@Darthpwner, That’s great of you to be thinking of your Grandpa. I’m sure he’s proud of you! Hoping you are accepted!

Good luck everyone- we all deserve it! :)

Wow, this thread is getting really long.

It is currently 3^5 pages long, yes.

tigger - Probably not, but I’d say a good many here do ;)

Is there anyway to shuffle the songs on a spotify playlist?
