Official Stanford SCEA 2017 Applicants' Discussion Thread

OHHH @haginrainbow nevermind! It was just that whole thing with you making the funny but slightly dirty (in the best way possible) comment, and me supporting your saying it :stuck_out_tongue: But when I read your post just now I forgot you were the one who made the funny comment, and thought you were the person that I defended you against… We’ll miss meeting you :/

And YESSSS admit weekend. Did anybody accept the admission offer yet? I kind of want to but I feel like I should rescind my other apps and all first maybe…

…I also have been partying too hard to sit at home and check out all this info/the admitted students website o.O

Somebody let us know when the group is made on facebook! Y’all rock.

@amy: The group is made, but since our Stanford emails don’t work yet we can’t seem to access it LOL.

Yeahhh!!! Admit weekend! It’s gonna be fantastic! I can’t wait to meet all of you guys in person!
And yeah the neither the FB thin nor the webmail site thing doesn’t work for me either… Guess we will just have to wait… >.<
Haha there’s so much waiting involved xD
So out of curiosity, have any of you actually accepted the offer of admission yet?

I really want to but I’ve been advised to sleep on it to get over the initial ā€œoh my god ksjdoekdkdkSTANFORDā€ feeling before I immediately commit :slight_smile: we have until may but I want to join the fb group!

I feel like we probably have to commit in order to actually get the e-mail. There’s no way I’m committing until I know all my offers + scholarships in April though. Unfortunately I probably can’t go to Admit weekend (gotta save money for other stuff)

^Yeah, I feel the same as you red. Although I will most likely attend admit week and end up attending Stanford, gotta see what other financial aid offers I get.

Still directing me to the STARS page :/

So I’ve been noticing some of the frustration with rejections or deferrals and I stumbled upon this blog post by a former MIT admissions officer.

If you’re feeling blue, read it:

[It’s More Than A Job | MIT Admissions](It’s More Than A Job | MIT Admissions)

Yeah probably not going to be able to access the Facebook page until we accept their offer of admission/enroll. And I think I’ll be going… I got really really good financial aid. See you all there!

Guys, I just made a facebook group if you guys would like to use that… I have no way of being aware that you are actually an admit though so if you could message me on here I can send you the link?

Yay!! norwhale! Can’t wait to see you there! Are you planning on going to Admit Weekend?

Is it possible that an applicant is moved from the accepted pile to the deferred pile solely due to essays which were good content-wise but were not presented extra-ordinarily?

@thedingbat [It’s More Than A Job | MIT Admissions](It’s More Than A Job | MIT Admissions) =)

I am going to admit weekend!

goforitman: Apps aren’t moved between piles. They go into piles and stay there.

unless you’re deferred lolololololololololol

@thedingbat
I understand brother, Stanford can kiss my ass. They really are random in a lot of their decisions, and tons of us are more qualified than many of the applicants accepted

@castroyesid
Give it a rest. That damn article can kiss my ass too

And to all that got accepted, I’ll be giving you the middle finger from the east coast in a few months

Love you too SAT(: I’m sure you’ll get in somewhere great! Don’t worry about one rejection. It’s not going to matter in the end.

Hey guys.
I think your official Facebook group is here:
http://www.facebook.com/groups/stanfordclassof2017/

You definitely don’t need to commit to get into it, but I do think you need to commit for the e-mail access.

Congrats to all who got in! If you have any questions about Stanford, feel free to message me :)

@dingbat maybe they found out you’re arrogant. Honestly if I hadn’t been accepted I’d be sad yes, ashamed yes but not angry at Stanford. Don’t take something with a 11% chance for granted. On the other hand I understand you worked so hard. You’ll get in elsewhere for sure with your stats.
