I’m so nervous watching the gymnastics!

Late lunch break allowed me to watch Rafa/Alcaraz to move to the next round of doubles! :tennis:

About the only thing I have in common with Simone is that my hair also escapes from the pony tail holder. But Simone can pull it off as a messy bun and I look more like Phyllis Diller.

Jordan Chiles … so good.

The amount of celebrities at women’s gymnastics is insane!

And Suni’s story is amazing.

I’m glad you mentioned Suni. Last I saw, there were 5 talented women who won gold for the Team. Why is everyone only mentioning Simone Biles?

Maybe because

  1. She’s 27, old for this sport
  2. She shockingly had to withdraw from events last Olympics
  3. She took two years off and during that time became a leader in promoting mental health
  4. She’s the GOAT

I mentioned Jordan Chiles above. Not zero sum. They are all great. But LeBron James is the Simone Biles of basketball and no shade to anyone else on the team to concede that.

Uniqlo makes swimming caps? Who would have thought?

D and I wrapped up our Olympic adventure today with the Women’s Rugby 7’s. I know gymnastics is exciting, but please give some attention to the US women’s rugby. Great tournament. New Zealand is on a whole different level from the rest of the field.

Really hot day here. I’m going to be happy to return to the US, land of ice cubes and air conditioning!

Wow. Lane Zero?

Haha, it starts as soon as you board that plane for home! AC on blast and ICE in abundance! :star_struck:

The finish was incredible. The stadium was just going wild! Of course there was a lot of love for France, and Aussies and Kiwis were represented in abundance. It was neat to see the different styles of play. I’ve never thought of rugby as a finesse sport, but NZ was a machine! It was a lot of fun, but I am exhausted. We’ve been on the go nonstop.

I started watching rugby when ds1 studied in NZ. He brought me back an All Blacks scarf :purple_heart: I truly don’t understand a lot of the rules, but I watch it anyway. How cool you got to see it live!

Oh how I wish. When they were doing the weather this morning, they said it would be 98 in Paris and 99 in Denver. I do not have air con! (I do have a fan and a swamp cooler). I do have ice. I love ICE.

But then again, I’m not outside playing rugby.
