How about the women’s marathon winner who SIX days ago won bronze in the 5K and TWO days ago won bronze in the 10K. I can’t even imagine. Maybe they should check her for bionic parts. (Kidding)
Not Olympic related but Disney has a dopey challenge in January. Where you do a typical 5k on Thursday, 10k on Friday Half marathon on Saturday then the full marathon on Sunday.
Yup. I’ve known about that for many years. But those people aren’t running them at 4:30-5:00 pace. For a time I used to run 100-120 miles a week. But most of it is slow!

especially with her stride! She is known for her track power, but she only started running marathons recently. This is like her third or fourth marathon? She is incredible!

This morning I wake up to hear Jordan Chiles must return her bronze medal. Now I read a new article that the appeal was on time.
Stop playing with these young athletes emotions. Give them both the bronze medal and be done with it.

that was one of the best renditions of the anthem that I’ve heard. Really well done ending ceremonies. I was worried as I didn’t love the opening ceremonies but this closing ceremony is great. Tom Cruise is a bit much lol

Oh noo… Simone Biles had one foot in a boot during the closing ceremony?! Did anyone else see that?
She had that on the Today Show ( or maybe it was the night time show with Mike Tirico, or maybe both) the day after her competition. I think it is just to let it heal and prevent more stress.

Yseult is incredible! Her vocal mastery of My Way was amazing, and the ending … WOW!!!
They are doing a tour after the Olympics, like Disney on Ice. She is using the boot as a precaution.

I only watched some of the closing - mostly just the teams coming in which to be honest, for me, was kind of disjointed and boring… but I’m curious - and may find it and watch it yet - what were people’s thoughts about the choice of Tom Cruise and thoughts about whatever he did for entertainment in his role during the closing ceremonies??
Tom Cruise is the 2nd in command of a cult. He should not be involved with the Olympics.
I won’t watch anything he is in.
