Official thread october sat 2013 test

ON THE INTERNATIONAL SAT,
Was the section with a question about number of odd numbers in the first 70 terms experimental? :(

wanttogo this is a domestic posting. I don’t mean to shun you or anything but there’s a specific thread open on here for Intl. students and today’s math sect. I accidentally ran across it earlier.

Wasn’t the error with the Incas “whether” vs. “if”

I put no error for the “whether… Or” ID.

“If…or”? Lol I don’t think so…

But but but this is where most of the discussions have happened?
I will look for that one too :)

Does anyone remember the last grid in question?what doe you think my projected score would be if I got one grid in wrong and 2 multiple choices

did anyone get 162 for a math question about workers being neither one job or the other?
and how in the world was the circumference 20pi!!! :frowning: the equalateral triangle had a side of 5? so 2pir is 10pi???

Is there consensus on the mundane vs romantic? I still think it’s romantic…
Mundane means dull and commonplace and she never once implied that the Dickens novel was mundane… In fact she said that it was up to her standards as a romantic novel… So clearly she doesn’t think it’s boring.

Listen, there is no Inca error. There isn’t.

Can someone link me to the doc file. :)

@megan702 r u sure it was 5?

In the math section whats was the answer for the 3x/a when it was a constant? It said that if you doubled a how much would it be greater than the original slope?

Can anyone pm me a link a to the google doc :)

Aro I got 1/2
Also what did you guys think of the inhospitable sc question? Dp dark clpuds and low temperatures really imply inhospitability?

I’m sure it was inhospitable. No other answer remotely made any sense.

Can anyone pm me a link a to the google doc

You guys know what’s amusing? When the SAT computes your score range. It is incredibly inaccurate, or at least has the ability to be. From everything I can tell, CB says plus/minus one point for the section and also takes the raw score for a given section and puts it to different curves. That makes a ton of sense. A lot of you probably already knew that and I had an idea as to how it worked but that sounds legit.

Yeah Megan the side was 5 and perimeter was 12. 3, 4, 5: the most common and simple Pythagorean triple.

Inhospitable was a terrible choice because the hyperbolic contrast between the description of the setting didn’t warrant the use of the polarity of inhospitable. As test prep companies and study guides dictate, seldom ever is the most extreme answer correct. I understand that of all of the choices it’s the only one that sorta worked, but it is illogical to say that if clouds roll in and the temperature drops (probably because of rain or snow) nothing can live or thrive in that environment.

What was this triangle circle problem
