Official thread october sat 2013 test

@cossack unshakable pretty much means not accepting others’ ideas…
it’s ambiguous

Just a quick point here, “showing great attention to detail or correct behavior” doesn’t necessarily mean you will greatly resist somebody else not doing so, it just means that it’s what you do.
Unshakable, on the other hand, directly implies one rejecting another’s ideas or way of doing things.
I still think it’s unshakable

can we just have a wonderfully generous curve this month??

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I DONT WANT TO TAKE THIS EVER AGAIN!!!

Eh, unshakeable just doesn’t seem right. :P

@alwayswonderines: Seconded. Although I’ll almost certainly be taking it again, unless the curve is crazy nice.

what was the experimental section for u guys? for me math

A little morr discussion on the tone questiom for music passage

Somewhat derisive vs scholarly neutral?

Theres still a lot of debate

Can someone PM me the google docs?

Houston, I think the general consensus has been favoring derisive.

does anyone noe which of the math sections is not experimental. coz math was experimental for me but each test booklet is different right?

rofllolcopt yea i think they have to.

GOD this sat sitting was the worst one i’ve had so far! i’ve taken two last year, and my highest score was 1980 without much studying. when i took a few practice tests this year to prep for it, i found myself scoring in the 2100s systematically. but unless the curve is craazzy nice this time, i probably will “fail” it!! how did you find it?

So is it punctilious or unshakeable? This is driving me crazy

this sat was my first and it was better than expected but i’m giving one in november :stuck_out_tongue: math sections were good except for one, i hope thats the experimental one. the music passge of cr wasnt that good. writing section was good. sentence completions were good for me too. i have never reached 2100 is preactise tests though :P

CR had a lot of bad questions.

i’m not sure if this has been asked, but for the math one that was like if there are 15 numbers and the range and median are the same, and if all the numbers are multiplied by 4 and m is the new median and r is the new range…
was the answer m = r?
I’m kind of freaking out about this

also, can someone pm me the google doc?

The tone was definitely mildly derisive.

The author compared them to Luddites.

If you had noticed, Luddites had an asterisk. The notes at the end say that Luddites destroyed machinery that replaced human workers.

loltired how many math sections did u have?

two 25 minute sections and one 20 minute section

did u have this question
f(x) = f(x-1) + 4
f(3) = -1
what is f(1) or something. it was the last question in the 25 min section
