that’s really weird… and also not fair that certain majors are exempt. whatever, I have a fantastic back-up if Berkeley doesnt pan out so ehh, not really that nervous anymore. i just want to FINNALLYY know where I’m going this fall! EEEE!

you guys really like Cal that much more than UCLA? I visited to Cal last week during spring brake and found the surrounding environment of Cal was really hateful…

@redo, where do you see the list of majors that are exempt from spring admits?

@kokamome - hateful? hmm why would you say that? i never get that vibe from berkeley. people aren’t glowing and cheerful and sparkly like LA ppl might be…but hateful?

I’d choose Cal over UCLA! I think Spring admissions is only for stuff in the social science department or something like that…

it is for engineering as well

Thanks for the kind words a few pages back redo, cherry, eyethink, and ella. Yeah, even if I don’t get into Cal, I’ll be happy with UCSD. Like my rejection from UCLA said (and it’s true), being denied isn’t a commentary on what I’ve accomplished or overcome. It would just be nice to have some recognition by way of getting into the school of my choice. If only I could retake that Incomplete/F… well, can’t get stuck on mistakes of the distant past, that **** will drive you crazy.

Just four more days until …

I have to cook a **** ton of lumpia ;-)

4 more days until…

the royal wedding!

^It’ll probably end in divorce. Too soon? ;-)

If I got to Cal I’ve already got my roommates, assuming they get in also lol.

HAHAHAHAHAHA rshie i was just reading about that!! and it will DEFFS end in divorce. yeesh.
xcaliberse - look at the previous page (16), at mytime’s posts.

and no problem santacruz, whatever happens, remember youre still a b0$$.

i have a dentist appt at 11ish? cant remember what time…but its friday morning ew.

edit: kokamome - my trust in your judgement about Cal diminished somewhat by your usage of “brake” and “visted.” I’ve been to Cal a few times and “hateful” would deffs NOT be the word i would use. maybe “chill” and “exciting” and even a smathering of “nice.”

bahaha redo.

i’ve hung out on my own in berkeley just walking around to get the feel and the vibes to me were very good. people were nice, laughing, having fun, being social, and I enjoyed it there a lot.

that being said, if you think it’s hateful, don’t go because you clearly are the type of person who doesn’t belong there. any place you don’t feel good feelings when you are there, you probably shouldn’t go.

I said that because the surrounding is dirty, and full of homeless, which makes me so scared…

@kokame

there’s homeless in davis, too. and i would argue that’s the safest area of any of the uc’s.

i would worry more about the students than the homeless people. especially if your other choice is LA. Westwood may be nice but last time I was at Diddy Riese, which is across the street from UCLA I was straight up verbally harrassed by a homeless man when I didn’t give him change (because I legitimately had none). most homeless people leave you alone when you politely turn them down, this was of course an exception, but any big city or college town has a homeless population of some kind big or small.

@rshie002 nice advice. However, I’m not sure if I’m going to UCLA or not yet, cuz I’m also still waiting for Cal and USC Marshall. Cal is definitely the best of them in academic aspect. However, I love UCLA campus the most. And for a business major, I have to say Marshall has more opportunities, so if I’m lucky enough, it’s gonna be a tough choice.

best of luck to you. i hope you end up somewhere you love =]

@rshie002 Thanks, hope you can get in Cal or any of your dream school too=]

Being at Cal, there are definitely homeless people but not so much as harassing. Just be smart and you’ll be fine. If you’re really paranoid, live on Northside.

I really hope I get into Cal…four more days till I find out :(

Honestly, Cal is my top first choice. I’m wondering why people are so excited about getting in UCLA. If I got in Cal, I definitely will not even consider UCLA. This is the longest waiting time ever…counting down…
