I was pleased that one of my kid’s friend got accepted to Berkeley for Chemical Engineering. It’s the best school for his major. He was accepted to UCSD but not to Chem E and I believe rejected from UCLA. His 2-year at CC paid off. Congrats to all acceptances!
@mommamarmalade Well then you can either try to find roommates on your own, or they will assign them to you based on questions you fill out (for example what type of hours you keep).
Not sure yet. I just don’t know how to find a roommate. I’ve heard there are Facebook group pages but I deleted my Facebook after high school to focus on academics… is there any other place to find roommates?
My status still says application in review. Is anyone else still waiting on a decision too? I thought that all the decisions were going to be available NLT the 24th.
In disbelief that I made it after getting waitlisted by LA…needless to say, last week was difficult for me…

I have no understanding whatsoever on my admission decisions. I’m in disbelief.

Why I think I got in:
Upward slope with grades, good personal statements
I’m a math major who’s taking an Art class this semester to fulfill an IGETC requirement. I was wondering if I could drop the class at this point without having my acceptance revoked. I have the 7 course pattern that the UCs require, so do I really need to finish IGETC this last semester?
@lindyk8 but I know people who have been admitted as math/physics majors to UCLA without IGETC. They were told that they don’t need IGETC to transfer but it’s easier if the student has completed it, since otherwise they would have to take more rigorous courses at UCLA to satisfy general ed requirements. Are you sure IGETC is a L&S requirement in general or are you just talking about Berkeley? I remember being asked on the supplemental application for Berkeley how I was going to satisfy the general ed requirements and I’m pretty sure one of the options was the 7 course pattern. Of course I selected IGETC instead because I thought I was going to finish IGETC this semester. Now I’m working part time and I’m just swamped with so much work and it would be really nice if I could drop one class. Also, I don’t understand why Berkeley allows students to complete major requirements during the summer session but not general ed requirements. It just makes no sense to me.
