@lindyk8
Thanks for the suggestion. I will change it to “UC Berkeley transfer students” only. And you’re right, all the pages for UCB are based on year and they’re barely any members. And Berkeley doesn’t have any common transfer page. Hopefully it can be helpful for all the transfer members.
So will do!
And everyone join.
I don’t use Facebook so I’m out of the loop
Great @abcd88. I’ll let me daughter know.

Hi guys. I recently was just admitted to UCB. I actually need to send a letter to the school telling them that I dropped a class with a W. The class I dropped is non-major required, but it is 5 units. I still meet every other requirement, 60 units, IGETC, etc, but I’m just very anxious about how this change will affect my acceptance to the school. After looking at the FAQ, it seems that I
Let us know, in writing, about any changes to your courses or grades by mail or fax. Please send your signed letter to:

To me, this seems almost…archaic? Is there some sort of form like I should be sending my change in my courses to instead? Or is it really just a neat, handwritten letter? Does anyone have any comment on whether this will affect admission and if this is really the right way to do it? Thanks!

@veriLey you should have an admissions officer, mate. In your left column. He/she will have a number and an email address. Best of luck.
@Nediac That’s awesome, and sure as hell makes me feel better about applying next year.
How many philosophy classes have you taken, and which ones?
@h95130f I’ve heard really great things about Cal’s Rhetoric department.
@music1990 to know incase I could thank whoever looked at my app…and also ask what made me stand out compared to others that applied.
Did anyone else receive an offer to RSVP to the bridges transfer weekend?
Also, when does Regents come out? And do they have it for all transfer students or just community college students?
Was too scared to check My Berkeley until after my midterms… then just gt a phone call with a personal congratulations from the dean for getting into Haas!!! BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!! USC MARSHALL–> HAAS BABY!!!
Can you link to the Facebook page? I couldn’t find it by searching
@goldencub I’ve taken ethics, intro to philosophy, and am currently in logic. My CC offers great religions of the world but I never had time to take it. Please feel free to ask if you need any help, and good luck!!!
@Nediac That’s cool. I ask because I was curious how much they take into account the amount of courseload in the subject, considering none (or almost zero) cc’s offer the prerequisite classes. I’ve taken intro and modern european philosophy thus far, one this summer, and I should be taking two-three philosophy classes per semester starting this Fall, which should amount to a total of about 7 classes? Looks like it’ll be sufficient.
How many units did you take each semester in general?
I’m actually taking logic at Cal this summer, and will be taking Ancient Phil (25A) and Modern Phil (25B) in the Fall and Spring semesters on campus. Maybe I’ll see you there!
Major: Political Science

IGETV/Pre-Reqs Completed? Will be done by spring
TAP: No, didn’t meet the deadline due to technical difficulties with paperwork. I was very distraught and thought I wouldn’t get in with my ‘borderline’ GPA…but thank goodness I did.

Personal Statement: 9/10. Had many people look it over/reedited various times
Accepted: UCB,UCLA, UCSD, UCI (Regents), UCSB, UCD, CSULB

Rejected: N/A
Advice: Truly believe in the beauty of your dreams. Don’t live in the future. Don’t daydream too much about being accepted, DO THE WORK AND WORK HARD. You can do it! I will definitely be here next year to pass down knowledge and ‘pay it forward’ as far as helping other fellow transfer students goes.
I just SIR’ed to Cal and rejected all the other UC’s that I was accepted to, so that I could help clear up some room in admissions so that more people on the waitlist could have the potential of getting in. For those of you who SIR’ed to whatever school it was, I suggest you login into your admission portals for those schools and reject them to help other students out. Please and thank you. And pass this down.
ACCEPTED AND OVERJOYED. I wish everyone the best of luck in their academic endeavors.
I was so excited I didn’t post for days despite following this thread forever.
@zoeyschmoey so you didn’t want to hold out for Merced?
No, because Merced was just a backup school

If it doesn’t work, just type UC Berkeley Transfer Students in the search. It should come up. Its the only group.

It’s amazing how much your life can change in one year. After leaving USC I never thought I could finish enough courses in two semesters of community college to go to Haas. I took 6 courses each semester and three in winter, at three different CC’s. The odds were against me- none of my friends with 4.0’s got in so I was shocked when I saw I got in. Just a reminder that if you will it- is is no dream. Congrats to all admits.
