Got Rejected for Informatics damn =/ I’m tempted to appeal honestly.
@shooguu I think at this point everyone wants to just get into the University and not care about their desire major they’re trying to get in because I already have the units/cs courses to transfer into the department also I self-sacrificed my gpa to hopefully get in as a first year transfer(Currently freshman in college). I’m kinda worried that my TAG wouldn’t be accepted because I’m finished with IGETC and I’m also in CSU (being optimistic of getting in lmao). Will my TAG be considered if I drop out of my current CSU and apply as a CC next transfer year?

It should, but I would make sure and call UCI.
I went to UCI twice just to make sure I’m TAG qualified because I didn’t trust any of my CC counselors.
I don’t get how a tag gets denied if you are full time student finished prereq finish igetc 3.4 gpa?

can someone please check to see if what that person said earlier was true, that they sent out rejections instead of acceptances and waitlist. Im at work so i can’t check right now.
Assuming I don’t get off the waitlist for CPP looks like CSULB might be the ticket

Also, does anyone know what the best housing area is? Apparently I have priority for choosing where I want to live. Kinda hoping for somewhere quiet. I put VDC on my housing application.
Rejected from 5/6 UC’s I applied to so far, including UCI. 3.5 GPA and missing only minor recommended pre-reqs with IGETC complete. Oh well, looks like another year in CC it is.
Anyone recommend taking random GE’s to pad my GPA a bit?

I called UCI admissions office and told them that I participated in the TAG program and that my academic counselor said I was in good standing, but was rejected. Admissions clerk took down my student number and then told me to make a formal petition through the admissions portal. Major bummer. I got into UCR, I’m thinking I’ll go there at this point.

I might file the petition just so I can get feedback on exactly how my TAG didn’t work out. What’s messing with my head is that I was told many times to make special note on my UC application that I had TAG with UCI. However the day before I submitted my app, UC emailed saying NOT to make note of TAG in the application and that the tagged campus would be notified. Did UCI know I had a TAG?? That would be good to know for starters.
@CompEngrUCI So you’re in good standing but have you taken/are taking all the prereqs? Finished math/English before spring? If so, then yeah appeal.
