@kissu2 actually if you haven’t heard back yet might be a good chance you’ve been accepted! Seems like they released mostly rejections today.
Man it’s so terrible to see so many of us got rejected
My school consular told me after applying TAG, you have to have min 3.4 GPA for every following semester. If you got a 3.39 or lower in either one of the following semester/ terms, you’ll be disqualified from tag program regardless of your overall GAP. Whether is 3.4 or higher.
@CaffreyH
Yeah, apart from maintaining an overall 3.4 GPA, your Fall, and Winter GPA have to be over 3.4.
“Earn a minimum GPA of 3.4 in all UC transferable coursework by the end of the summer 2016 term for fall 2017 admission and will maintain a 3.4 GPA in all UC transferable coursework for all SUBSEQUENT TERMS.”
@shooguu I think that might be the reason some guys got rejected even though they tagged.
@tausby96 go to myadmissions and click on message center, then click compose new message and it will lead you to options to change ur major
I recently changed my major from psych. to pschy and behavior, the process was so simple and fast than i expected
@shooguu But it says in the Provisional Admission Contract that you must “have a 2.0 GPA, or higher, in your last regular term (excluding summer session) at the last school(s) attended, and be in good standing”. So this means I don’t have to get 3.4 this semester right?
Once admitted you have to maintain an overall 3.4 transferable GPA and have no lower than a 2.0 your last semester. What they’re referring to is the semesters between having applied and when you get notified of your acceptance/rejection. For those on the semester system that’s generally only Fall for those on a quarter system that’s Fall and Winter.
When i submitted my TAG (9/1/16) I had the minimum 3.40. When I applied to UCI (1/3/17) it had gone up to 3.48.
@CaffreyH @shooguu If you go to the Requirements by Major, it says cumulative GPA (3.4)
https://admissions.uci.edu/apply/transfer/requirements.php
Required of all majors in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences unless otherwise specified:
Meet all basic UC admission requirements with a minimum grade of C or better
Have a cumulative UC transferable GPA of 3.0 (3.4 for TAG), unless otherwise specified
Complete 60 semester or 90 UC quarter units of UC transferable credit by the end of the spring term prior to the fall quarter of enrollment
@uchopeful22 you have to meet both conditions before you get your admission decision.
I don’t know if I should even appeal at this point, what would I even say?
@YourSenpai I feel the same honestly =/
@CaffreyH @shooguu
that’s interesting… I got a 3.2 (3 B’s ( 4 unit, 3 unit, 4 unit) and an A (3 unit) for my fall semester but 3.67 uc transferable overall gpa but I got accepted through TAG in mid-March
Well I got waitlisted at UCB got into UCI and UCLA going to submit my SIR to UCLA now that should free up a spot for whoever is waitlisted to UCI. Good luck everyone!
@zygole @dloading @titleist07 UCI Business Admin only accepted 280 applicants out of 11,000 freshmen and transfer apps. That’s about 2.5%. Freshmen take up about 70 to 80% of applicants that UCI gets, so there are like about 20,000 transfer apps. I’m giving you ballpark numbers regarding the amount of applicants.
@Zygole I’m glad that you got into Long Beach State! It seems cooler and more awesome than SJSU for a local CSU in your area.
@area21 According to Assist.org, Haas only accepts regular calc for their Bus Admin. They don’t accept business calc. Have a great time at UCLA though! I hope that you’re actually guaranteed your major and not just be a pre-major, like Biz Econ is.
@darkerchang31 Congratulations! May I ask what is your major?
I got rejected today, as well. Which i thought was odd because I have a 3.94 and got into UCD, UCSB, LMU, and Cal Poly. I just applied just to apply, but their major of Media Studies was not exactly what I was looking for. But it seems weird that i didn’t get in. So I’m not the only one?
@uchopeful22 thank you and Biz Econ in the house!
Anyone else planning to enroll at Merage?
does anyone know what your housing options are if you are on the waitlist? Do you have to wait until you are accepted to sign up?
