How can I estimate how much it will actually cost to attend UCI (not including housing). Based off this data graph from UCI’s website (catalogue uci edu/informationforprospectivestudents/expensestuitionandfees/)… I would be actually get money to attend UCI, is this accurate?
After accepting our financial aid money, when will we recieve the grants/loans ?

If I submit my SLR after getting my financial aid estimate, will the prices of grant and supposedly tuition change? I have attended community college in California for the last 2 years but I went to high school out of state and my parents also live out of state… However, that information should be in my FAFSA too…

@itzeko Congrats! That’s awesome that we got that scholarship and it’s going to help me a lot. However, do you know why we got it though?
I’m gonna call the uci financial aid office about how the blue and gold thing works and if that’ll change because not paying for tuition, receiving fafsa, a cal grant, and a uc grant of over 18K sounds too good too be true. My guess is that the cost of tuition would probably be subtracted from that, and the rest will probably be used for housing. (in the case that the blue and gold opportunity plan is applied to your fees.

@teeeeeeg Definitely. Now the representative that I spoke to wasn’t very helpful. He said a lot to me over the phone, but he essentially told me that if the blue and gold opportunity plan is applied to your financial aid package, that tuition amount will be subtracted from your UC grant like I thought. But he also said, if you were rewarded a Cal grant (I got cal grant b) that it would make your uc grant amount go down as well…I though it was common to receive, fafsa, a cal grant, and a grant from the school, but i’m guessing that’s not the case.
If anyone else calls, tell us what they said. obviously different ppl say different things

I’m not entirely sure why I received the offer but I received a letter yesterday that said “this award was given in recognition of your academic excellence, and is based on our belief that you will thrive as a member of the UCI community”. I’m guessing the offer was incluenced by ECs and GPA, maybe personal statements too?
@itzeko Yeah I was thinking that would be the reason too for the scholarship, but hey I’m not complaining B-)
So I’ve tried setting up my UCI email but the page keeps redirecting me to re-authenticate. I have not SIRd yet so could that be why it’s not letting me set it up?
