Official UC Irvine Fall 2017 Transfer Applicant Thread

@JustgotintoUCSB I like how you throws the word “statistically”. LOL. I am not sure where you get that number from. According to these reports below (which he obtained from the UC Counselor Conference), the chance of getting in from the Wait-list is MUCH MUCH MUCH higher than 3%. I hope you should consider to re-take your stats class.

For people on the Waitlist, Do Not give up hope because of a non-sense fact. You have a chance.

Hi everyone! So I was recently was admitted off an appeal as an African-American studies major and I’m an intercampus transfer from UC Merced. However, I ended up withdrawing from two classes during the spring semester a few weeks after I updated my courses on the UC application. Because of this, my total number of completed units dropped to 53 units. Will my admission be rescinded and would I be able to complete the remaining 7 units over the summer?

@lenocturne Hey man, I have seen you in this thread and the 2016 one. Glad you got admitted off the waitlist, especially since you got admitted last year! Good luck fellow CS major!

JUST GOT ACCEPTED OFF THE APPEAL

@TheGeneral00 Congrats!!!

@iridescentnoir: You are in danger of being rescinded since you need 60 semester units minimum by end of Spring 2017. I would contact admissions immediately and find out if you can take the extra 7 units this summer, since admissions are the only ones that could tell you if it is possible. Things do not look promising.

dang that is indeed statistically correct. I’m sorry but it still doesn’t change the fact you’re underqualified if you’re waitlisted. You guys got so lucky and you’re likely going to be failing when you get there. It’s nothing to be proud of tbh.

@JustgotintoUCSB wow HELLO FRIEND! Thank you for such a warm and friendly reminding. Hope you won’t fail classes in UCSB too :]

@JustgotintoUCSB Go fck yourself.

@TheGeneral00 Congrats! what is your major, if you don’t mind me asking?

@JustgotintoUCSB I think you are not going to go far with that mindset.

Waitlisted students ARE qualified candidates but the school could not give admission offers due to limited resources. This is especially true for students in Engineering major. They had to study their ass off for few years to maintain a competetive GPA. The school just could not expand quickly enough with the increase of qualified students.

Students with 3.5 GPA deserve to go to UC.

Well, if any CS students are wondering, I won’t be attending UCI, so there’s 1 spot open when i reject my admission i guess.

Submitted a change of major request from mech eng. to CS and it got denied, “No change of majors into the D. Bren School accepted at this time.” WTF?

you need to have completed some CS courses at UCI

Did anyone get accepted today?

So I submitted my SIR last weekend and did the housing app. I chose campus village and arroyo vista as my top choices. Not sure if they’re the absolute best, but i’m excited either way!!!

hi everybody, so im looking over my community college transcripts and i noticed i was placed on academic probation in my first semester there. In the UC application it asks if we have ever been in academic probation, I answered no because i had no idea about it. I just emailed my UCI admissions counselor to explain this to them. Do you guys think this will affect my admission in any way?

Is anyone who’s attending UCI joining the Campuswide Honors Program? I’m not sure it’s worth it since I already have priority registration from being a regents scholar. Anyone know of any other benefits? Or just know anything about the program? Is it lame?

Got an housing offer email from Vista del Campo Norte today

I got a housing offer email as well
@calbee did you rate Vista del Campo Norte as your #1? I got offered housing for my second option, just wondering
