<p>from what i recall from both the discount flyer thread and the congratulations email, both have originated from CNR. well, people applying to CNR are the ones who replied to both threads.</p>
<p>however, not all cnr applications received both the flyer and the email. i would take this as a good sign.</p>

Yea I just emailed Mrs. Vawter for a confirmation. I feel as though the content in the email pretty much says I’m accepted. I just want some confirmation because I’m a neurotic dude. For example, "Dear Prospective EEP Junior,</p>
<p>Congratulations on your admission to the Environmental Economics and Policy program in the College of Natural Resources! I’d like to personally welcome you to our program, and I’m available to assist you if you have questions as you weigh your options among the colleges that have accepted you."
Just seems weird cause its so early.</p>

I applied to CNR and didn’t get an email. Bad sign?</p>
<p>I wouldn’t take it as a bad sign Ceely. Obviously these two cases are goofs so there are probably tons of reasons why some received accidental correspondence while some did not, considering both being accepted. </p>
<p>For example, when the Cal financial aid went out early last year, a friend of mine didn’t receive the early emails, but they did get accepted to Cal. </p>
<p>In the scenario with my friend, I always pictured some IT guy screaming CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL!! while the last batches of notifications suspended.</p>
<p>Also, just as another observation that might be relevant… I worked at a startup for a few years and when we used mass mailing software (emailing thousands, sometimes millions) for newsletters, etc… all the mailing was ALWAYS delivered in batches just in case these scenarios pop up. For example, the software only sends to 1,000 people and pauses for 15 minutes, just in case there is a typo or broken link. The batches continue to be delivered in intervals. And we used 3 different mailing services and all followed this similar protocol.</p>
<p>Anyway, I wouldn’t worry too much!</p>
<p>In 48 hours we will know our fates!!! Good luck to everybody. I’m always comparing myself to other people in school. I can’t hate on them if they get in over me because they must of stood out more than me on their application. Having said that, I feel confident that my application is competitive and hopefully it’s good enough to get me in.</p>
<p>I’m more excited about “rewarding” myself for getting in by buying a bunch of crap online.</p>

<p>I’ve been looking at a bunch of Cal gear online. If I get in I’m going on a shopping spree. Everything from sweaters and hats to license plate brackets, even golf balls.</p>
<p>my boyfriend (who goes to cal) and I play a game called “what can’t you get with a cal logo on it?” yes, a cumbersome title, but also self-explanatory.</p>
