@goldencub How do you get regents? Is it automatically awarded to those eligible? What are the requirements?
@dannybui9 There’s a committee that looks through your application and determines whether you stand out or not. Figure the top 5 or 10% or so of applicants are considered (you need a high GPA, good EC’s, good essays).
UCI is less selective for the Regents scholarship than Berkeley or UCLA is. People on here often get regents at UCI, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a transfer student on here get regents for UCB/UCLA.
Not automatically awarded to those eligible, and no definitive requirements. Regents has guidelines for what they seek in applicants for granting them the scholarship, though.
@Remmigirl it’s like LopApo said, they get their decisions early, they also get a bunch of bonuses. Like priority registration, $2,000 extra a year, a laptop…

Hi everyone! I just checked my application status under the “MyAdmission” part of the UCI website and it says that I have been admitted.
Here are my stats:
Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.8 (I am in the Honors Program at my campus as well)
Pre Req’s: Not completed
E.C: Tutoring, Volunteer Work, Interning
Essay: 7/10
Feel free to ask any questions that you have! 
Are you sure that you are a transfer? Did you have regents? Because I want to say that’s impossible but anything is possible these days.
@poochindapooch yes, I am a fall 2016 transfer. I’m trying to figure out how to post a screenshot right now.
Who @poochindapooch? Are you referring to @fall2016transfer? He has good stats, I’m not suprised he got regents for UCI.
Iyes @Fall2016Transfer Because yeah I mean his stats are awesome. But I don’t see how he could’ve gotten in without regents which I’m assuming he did because it’s really soon! But congrats!

I’m pretty positive he got regents. I agree, that’s the only way he got his admission so soon based on previous years. UCI is pretty set on releasing decisions on the date they give. Except of course for regents applicants, who get theirs mid-March.

Got an admission decision with no regents??? Is that even possible? Maybe you should check it out. From what I’ve seen in previous posts, you get cool stuff.

Lol sorry about that @Fall2016Transfer. Try looking at the far right of your screen when you sign on to the UCI portal. Based on previous years, it should say over there if you got regents. Let us know!

@poochindapooch lol yea he’s not a baby anymore. So I’ve got a 1st grader and 2 toddlers; they’re definitely entertaining but not easy!
