Official UCI Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

Nope I didn’t TAG

Been keeping up with this forum for awhile. Just wondering if anyone here is in the same situation I am. Applied as a post-baccalaureate for CS. Has anyone here applied for a second bachelors here or heard a response back? I figured were at the back of the pack for last priority so the late response is kind of expected. But this is torture.

@ddragon2314 transfer gpa is 3.6 and overall 3.8
I’m at a CSU right now. I got into Fullerton but uci is where I really want to go.

Is this school worth going to for political science

When do you guys think the next batch will be released?

@MicrobioGrl better than me lol … im at 3.1 :frowning:

For those trying to make a decision, I’m a born and raised OC girl so I’m going to throw in my unsolicited two cents. Irvine is a very industrial city with not much to do. It’s very quiet, and I believe is typically rated as one of the nation’s safest cities. In my opinion, the city Irvine itself is boring. However, you can’t beat the beaches nearby and the close proximity to a lot of great things, like mountains to snowboard/ski, the beaches, San Diego, LA, etc. I’m from a nearby beach town so I never venture into Irvine for the nightlife so I can’t really give opinions about that, but as far as I know, there really isn’t much of one.
I used to work at Fashion Island in Newport Beach with a bunch of girls who went to UCI and they seemed to like the school itself, though.
UCI is in a great location simply because its in Orange County, but for me, the school isn’t my cup of tea. But, I think if you’re a very studious type or like quiet then Irvine could be very enjoyable. Also, the medical school is great.

For the record, I attended Santa Barbara City College as my CC and will be attending UCLA in the fall, if it matters

@karmavee Were you accepted on Friday?

Isn’t rolling supposed to be a daily thing?

@itakenotes Should be. But usually in small batches. The next big batch my guess would be wednesday.

@uctransfer16 Why Wednesday and not Tuesday?

@lugi350 I would actually argue that UCSB is number 4… there acceptance rate for both freshmen and transfer students is lower than both UCI and UCSD. I know in the past couple of years they might not have been, but they have definitely become more selective.

@LopApO may i ask if which major from abd which major you changed to? I’m wondering if i can change my major.

Last year on Tuesday the 28th, it was the day the second “batches” came out, it was at 3:00pm PST. If you were to look on a calendar Tuesday the 28th would equate to today.

I would suspect today to be the big day for a number of reasons. The main reason would be rejections are usually saved for the last two days.

I have noticed little to no majors in the bio fields to be accepted last Friday. Last year on the 28th it was primarily biological sciences being accepted.

@RichardEmt34 I got in for Biological sciences last Friday. All of my friends for bio-related fields get in a while ago (two weeks ago, for UCI first batches)

@scottythehotty UC Merced admission rate is lower than UCSD and UCSB. So I guess that makes it the best. :))
